Game's made to be as addicting as possible but none of what you do actually matters

Streamlining the game and limiting your movement just doesn't make for anything too enjoyable when the game is this easy.

I swear a major part of the hate this game receives is due to the Scholar re-release. The enemy placement in the original version is fair and the DLC, the best content in the game, isn't a puzzle to unlock. Speaking of the DLC, it's some of the best souls content outright. Brume Tower especially, with Fume Knight being a series Top 5 boss.

I love the battle system and the hallways don't bother me but the cloister of trials ruin the thing for me.

I hated playing this game so much it's the best thing ever made.
