Played it in Japanese as my first VN, understood like 10% of what was going on, still was engaged all the way through, lol

Played the Wii demo like three times when I was ten years old, went hard not gonna lie.

Opening still gets me a bit emotional even though I started playing the game in eighth grade. Biach, I carried a CRT into my basement just to shave off those extra frames of input delay!

I wish I lived in an alternate timeline where this game had a competitive scene and ridiculous tricks and tech, because it's probably lying in the codebase somewhere.

Large part of my childhood from fourth grade to the start of high school. I joined at the cusp of its status as a 'niche' game in 2012 and watched it grow into a platform of mass appeal. Yeah, yeah, cliche "old roblox better" and all the stuff that doesn't exist anymore aside. More children than ever now probably are having just as much fun on it now as we did back then. It just lost its original 'direction' where everyone made "ROBLOX games," and turned into a platform for game developers to put out their experiences.

Very unique concept; there are moments that feel just as satisfying as learning a real language. While its execution is pretty rough around the corners, I think the author has potential to make something very cool and significant if they refine their skills and expand upon the idea further.

YEAH!! I loved being able to play this in Japanese before the worldwide release and flexing on my friends by being able to follow the story in real time, bro!!! There's one problem, though: the game sucks! Just give me the bland story in FLAC audio and not the compressed-out-the-ass files it deals you so I can hear my oshi 宮下愛's pitch accent patterns and ダジャレ as they were meant to be!

Improves upon the first in every way, and while I like the original slightly more, this is objectively the better game. I wish I was able to play this before SPM, though, because it was weird hearing the same sound effects coming from an older game, lol.

Cuh. lassic. Bought this on the Wii VC when I was a kid but got stuck at the circus area, coming back later as a teenager to finish it. Perfect and soothing atmosphere, sound effects, music, and mechanics. Fave in the series.

You know I'd be hyped for new content in this series, and while I'm happy to see it, it just doesn't perform as well as its predecessor. The rougelike mechanics simply aren't fleshed out, and I found an oversight in the shop that let me clear dungeons pretty easily.

Found the game while bored scrolling through Eshop RPG demo titles and was not disappointed by this one. It's a simple RPG with the added element of running a restaurant that serves food you cook from ingredients you obtain in the wild. While it doesn't do much, there's something about it that allowed it to spread in my friend group and remain iconic among us for quite some time.
