(Slight spoilers for Tears of the Kingdom too)


I wish I could play this for the first time again, the feeling of knowing nothing and exploring the great plateau, with everything quiet aside from occasional ambient music and the sounds of creatures and nature. First getting into a snow area and having to decide on finding something to keep you warm or just to push through it.


I think part of why tears of the kingdom didn’t work for me nearly as well is it felt scripted. Breath of the wild felt like there was a narrow line of the story and objectives, and at any point you could branch off or stay put and you’d still enjoy it the same. TOTK has the same kind of effect but with more characters and more explaining and more directions, it hardly ever feels like you’re not being guided with string.



The one major thing holding it back for me is the ending. I’m never a fan of these endings where it just resets you before the fight, for me that’s the worst part of the game. I would kill for a post ganon world, and I think they could have done it.

Keep the ganon fight available at the castle
Still have the effects of ganons action like the blood moon and sludge
Include small new main character interactions
have a new small location on the map like a flower forest

I’ll probably never 100% it :’)
