Review from my seven year old, trying to play it with his younger sister " the map is stupid and it's all confusing". So there we go.

Another co-op with my Son. This seemed to appeal much more to him than Gang Beasts, the feel of the controls worked a bit better and he liked the idea of heists. Fun weapons as well.

2013

Played through with my Son. First "proper" game we have ever completed. As a two-player co-op game with him it was surprisingly good fun (and longer than I expected). Likely a different story as a solo player, but we really enjoyed it and the controls were easy for him to grasp.

I think maybe the kids were too young for this. Collectively we didn't get on with the controls or feel of the game overall. Definitely some funny moments though.

Really enjoyable "nice" game. That's not disparaging, it was nice to play. Good battle system, decent characters, end-of-the-world story but done well, and just an all round fun time. Alchemy system got a bit too layered for me but I was able to progress fine without going too deep. Only got stuck once grinding for a specific item. Looking forward to the second and third games.

It's very short (completed over two lunchtimes) janky (I had to pick every ingredient up twice, first time it would always drop it) and utterly baffling in places, but I can't pretend I didn't enjoy it. Kinda Pythonesque with the animations and surrealist stuff going on. I still have no clue what happened, but it's certainly original.

Never played Pokemon Snap but assuming that is similar to this. Great little game that introduces mechanics at a good pace, allowing you to replay levels to get different photos but without it ever feeling too samey. Like the monster design as well.

It's charming, with some neat mini-games, but also requires a fair bit of backtracking multiple times, with a slow paced main character and also not clear where to go at times.

Look I am a fanboy for all things P5, I have come to realise this. So I was always likely to enjoy this. As a Tactics game it's fine, pretty good even. The Quests in particular can be quite challenging to figure out (the "do this in one turn" quests anyway). But it's just great to spend more time with these characters, some nods to previous games but also the new cast members are pretty cool. And the last 30 minutes are just terrific in terms of scenes. So yeah, sign me up for another if they decide to do more.

Bit of a team effort this (niche sentence, some of the music done by the Go Team), as I played some but equally my son and daughter played co-op together. Which, given she has only just turned four, points to a pretty intuitive control scheme as she held her own really well. The levels are neat, soundtrack is cool, some great voice-acting, an all round fun time.

Complete change from when I originally played these on release. Back then, I am pretty sure I though X was fine and X-2 pretty great. This time around I really enjoyed X and the story hit way harder, guess that's just a life thing, whereas X-2 I found it hard to stick with. Just seemed disjointed. X though, liked the battle system and loved most of the story. And as a package it certainly isn't lacking in gameplay hours. I just watched the cutscenes from Final Mission, Rogue games not for me really, and the story itself seems, fine I guess.

Been playing all Christmas with the family. It's really good fun. Simple to pick up but can actually get quite tactical with it. And a fair few options to keep the format interesting.

I really, really liked the writing but unlike Cosmic Space Heroine I just couldn't click with the battle systems. Played, and liked, quite a few of the dev's games so maybe I am just done with the current format.

A decent chunk of DLC that keeps the main mechanics in place, just adds a couple of tweaks.

Overall a very good game. The key part of roaming around and fishing as great, just a couple of "get this exact fish" tasks that grated a bit as wasn't particularly clear on where/how to get them, and your movement is not the fastest over a fairly large game world. But I really great mixture of daytime chill, and nighttime panic (literally) that meant I stayed with the game until the interesting ending.
