I played through most of the Descent into Avernus campaign in one day (because I wanted to unlock The Trials of Mount Tiamat with enough time to complete a run before the end of the season), and it occurred to me to make a note about the story managing to be both funny and surprisingly epic despite that comedic bent and the abstract, diminutive quality of the game's look. I may have gotten swept up in the urgency of so much coming to a head at once, but I thought that the conclusion to this story was actually not just dramatic but even kind of powerful. I guess I shouldn't be so surprised, though. Any medium and aesthetic can be used to tell a story well. Look at The Order of the Stick lampshading its stick-figure look in contrast with its grand stakes and deep character development.

Got the skull pet and skeleton skin from the Halloween event across 3 normal/medium relic hunts and had a great time doing it. I kept noticing details in the sound and music design: the mix of creepy sounds in the silence and warmer tones when music kicks in colors the digging portion with a great vibe. The little jingle when you discover a smaller relic (for a gadget) is really nice. When I found the skeleton skin, the room opened up with a fun little fanfare, which nicely prepped me for the amusement of seeing my character transform with a poof when I picked it up.
Played briefly to compare with 2010 Steam release of Shatter. Refunded after deciding that the original was clearly better.
Played a bit to compare with Shatter Remastered Deluxe. Edited .xml file for 4K resolution and looked great aside from some interface text being too small.
