Obviously moving from Kazuma Kiryu, one of my all time favorite characters, to any new protagonist was going to be a near-impossible task, but somehow they found a way. He's still no Kiryu, but there is such strong foundations laid here that I can't wait to see be built on. There are more than a couple issues with the new turn-based combat system, and when combined with my general preference for the simultaneous fighting style made some of this game feel a lot longer than it actually was. Still, I could see all of my issues with it being fixed in future entries. And while I do really love the story, I don't really think it's the be all end all Yakuza story some people make it out to be, it still comes with most of the same conventions and minor caveats that the rest of the stories have. That being said the final scene in front of the coin lockers is probably one among the best the series has to offer, incredible stuff. There's so much to love about this game, it's very easy to see why it's so beloved among series fans, but if I'm being honest this is still one of the weaker games to me. Although, that's no testament to the quality of the game itself, but much more the overall quality of the series it's in, a lot of my minor gripes with it add up and make me hesitant to put it above some of the other games.

Most emotional game I've ever played, I cried like 4 or 5 times during it, Kazuma Kiryu is one of my favorite characters ever.

I was really enjoying this until Kiryu's section. Unlike the characters, he has no real story of his own and feels very forced, and the characters intersecting paths was handled surprisingly sloppily with essential scenes or sequences being skipped over entirely. Also, Diego Dojima is EXTREMELY out of character here, incredibly frustrating. Still, I really enjoyed played the first three sections of the game, Akiyama is a fantastic addition.

Still a good game, but very easily the worst of the series I've played so far.

OOOOOOOOOH YEAH YAKUZA KIWAMI 2 OH YEAH OH YEAH OH YEAH THAT'S THE REAL SHIT THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THAT'S WHAT I'VE BEEN TALKING ABOUT THIS IS WHY WE DO IT THIS IS WHY BABY WOOOOOOOOOOOOO

The final fight and ending of this game are so damn good.

Objectively way messier than the first, and I feel the pacing is GOD awful in the Seattle section, but I still think this game is truly special.

EASILY the best story of the 4. It doesn't quite top the third, but it comes damn close.

Overrated but still really great.

Easily the best uncharted game, with amazing combat, fun story, and amazing visuals. The boat turning while you fight is still my favorite setpiece in the series.

This game is addictively hard. Like my cock while playing this game.

Kazuma Kiryu is my bestie. I fw Goro Majima a bit as well, but me and Kiryu? Besties.

Somehow way better than the first, addictive in a way few games ever have been before.
