Donut County itself is an enjoyable albeit short little puzzle game. I had a lot of fun with it while it lasted and while its humor doesn't always land, it's never obnoxious.
My issues arise when you look at the game's length and its cost. Personally, $12.99 USD feels a tad expensive for the game's length and what it does. While the game is charming, it's not super deep and once you've finished the story there's not really much else you can do. The story- while fun- is nothing particularly special or memorable for any reason.
This isn't to say that Donut County should be free by any stretch of imagination. However, I think a price more along the lines of "A Short Hike" ($7.99) or "Fossil Corner" ($9.99) would be an easier pill to swallow.

I wanted really badly to like this game. It has an alluring concept with potential to be a cute, calming, and fun experience. In practice, however, it's clunky, unpolished, and uninteresting at best.
For its frankly upsetting price tag of $11.99 USD you're better off paying the extra $8.00 for Kittaria Fables or waiting for the upcoming Cat Cafe Manager.
