An improvement in almost every way to Chapter 1, Chapter 2 builds upon the first chapter's new combat system, it expands on the lore of this strange world, and it only gives more questions than answers. Some characters from Chapter 1 develop in fun ways, while Toby and his team introduce a new rogues gallery of memorable weirdos. It became clear to me while playing Chapter 2 that DELTARUNE is a worthy successor to UNDERTALE in just about every way. Here's hoping Chapter 3 comes out before the sun collapses.

An exciting start to a new Toby Fox project, but was intentionally made fairly derivative of UNDERTALE. The combat this time around is a bit more compelling since it features a party instead of a single playable character, while the music and graphics are about what you'd expect from a game in this... series? Toby is a terrific composer but not a very good pixel artist, and most of the visual improvements are thanks to Temmie Chang. With the appearance of a familiar mystery man in the game's buildup to release and the various ideas thrown around in game, it was hard to predict where this new story might lead.
