Finally got through the hellish Sonic Mania. I have to admit it, I don't like the Sonic gameplay / game mechanics. Running fast is cool, but running into an enemy, losing all your short term achievements (rings) is - and never was - cool. It feels too much of a loss, having a high number of rings and only saving a few of them. Always a let down.
On top of that, losing all 3 lifes before a Boss of Act 2 and you can start the whole level again - this is too retro for me. And one button for jump, spin, everything, I just don‘t know, never was a Sonic/Mario fanboy but gameplay wise always Mario.

The Banner Saga is a game about making tough decisions and accepting them. You never really know what the outcome is and those decisions can help you or become a burden even very late into the game.

I really like the art style, the characters are simple but unique.
It took some time to get used to all the game mechanics, actually I stopped playing after trying it out the first time, but after sometime in between it grew on me and in fact it is a beautiful game.

one of the best 2D "story" scroller of all time

I played this with my sister and friends visiting who don't usually play games. It is one of the best games to get cooperative and have a good laugh for the time being. The more players the better.

Online Coop would be so good!

biggest Nintendo let down I ever bought

"Time travel stuff" is never easy - Rick & Morty proved it. This game feels like a bonus episode of the previous trilogy and fills a gap for people who want to stay a bit more in the Deponia world. It was good to return because the end of the third part didn't feel like an end and the game had some good moments and quirks, but overall implementing time travel in the story feels like fixing old plot holes and makes it feel random.
I like the developer as they are pushing point'n'click adventures and my start with Rufus was rough, but I'm glad I played all Deponia games and can fully recommend them.

How to get your shirt dirty.

Background and music I like - story, pacing, weird decisions for directing (music placement), world building and overexplaning story not so much. The world just doesn't make any sense, the explanations sound made up and actually you're helping a conspiracy paper...
The art style is unique in a good way and it definitely has some production value (voice acting), but it's just so flawed.

A bit dated nowadays (controls, graphics), but an interesting story nonetheless. It's like Captain Planet of Point'n'Click games. The puzzles are quite logical to follow and the voice acting is quite good.

This 2D platformer is easily one of the best games of its genre, especially on the Switch. It has so much content, the developers just kept on giving and King of Cards as the last addition was super fun. The game mechanics are on point and as well the levels very versatile. Every hero plays completely different and therefore the level design changed. The humour is very on point. The difficulty is challenging and never too hard or too easy.
Although I prefer SNES compared to NES like graphics as well as music (in can get very much into your ear), Shovel Knight appealed to me much more than say Celeste overall.
It's one of the must haves if you are just one scoop away to retro 2d platform gaming.

Winding down with Stardew Valley is perfect.

It's fun for a while and the cat design is ridiculously over the top in a good way, but to be honest it's a game designed for tablet and this feeling never comes off. I had my fun with it but it's time to move on to better games who feel more complete - meaning less mobile game-ish.

It's good, although snowbally if you get it right.
One problem even on PC is finding the right building, you have to click it, as there's no hover function.
It's okay so

I wish I could like it more, but it never feels like doing something skillfully. I just mash buttons and hope for a high score . Couldn't complete it. Beats are good, though.

Sludge Life is an audiovisual masterpiece. It is weird, oozes aesthetic and gives me Jet Set Radio vibes. I loved the playthrough.

The frame drops are so weird it kept me from enjoying it completely.
It's a good game and a nice retrospective on the GB classic. The shovel made me dig up the trauma (haha) I got when playing the original, trying to dig up everything everywhere.
However, some dungeons were too confusing in the original and still are. Finding the one staircase I always missed, it's a bit frustrating.

All in all, it's a solid classic Zelda, but not a full price game and I am happy the series evolved.
