they had berserk in it the other day

lowkey better than definitive edition main game…at least gameplay and world terrain design wise 🤔

It’s pretty good I think. Not much to say…I think the combat could be more engaging but it did originate on the Wii so yknow

It’s a remake of a ps1 platformer (bad)

“SMTV: Hidden Masterpiece”

tl;dr: so it has problems obv but also…it’s_peak.gif

Visuals:
Switch 🤔

Combat:
Makes me feel like a genius moving all the pieces around in my head

Characters:
Why r these guys here (the classmates)

Bosses:
Cool enough

Music:
pretty good

Demon designs:
Good variety (even though they’re like smtv all-originals obv)

“Dungeons”:
Atlus plssss stoppp (especially the one with the wind puzzles 😞)

I think SMTV is almost like the best thing ever™️ but it needed like a few tweaks and tucks (which I assume Vengeance is for). I would have just waited for Vengeance but I was already like 30% done and didn’t want to restart. I got all the endings which is cool. The secret ending is kind of a pain but not the worst thing ever. Just wish I could get all the ending dots without having to do NG+. I think the difficulty is decent enough. Atlus please stop making paid grinding DLC just add it to base game so it doesn’t end up in a lost media iceberg someday. I love the demon recruit dialogue. I think the actual game dialogue could be tweaked because it seems like a decent portion of development went to visuals (worked surprisingly well on switch..with some hitches) and combat (which makes since I suppose). So like “objectively” I’d give it like a 7/10 but the cool factor is telling me 8/10.

Hoping Vengeance takes it from a “really cool most of the time” to “oh my god…wow”

mixed feelings on this one…the gameplay is pretty cool I suppose. But like a lot of the rest feels sort of duct taped together.

tl;dr:
It’s a solid game but I think it’s barely a “yokai watch” game

Gameplay:
kinda meh until you unlock ~ half of the skill tree

Befriending:
Why is it like this. Why do I have to do like 5x the amount of work to befriend one yokai 😭

Crank a kai:
Didn’t give me any cool yokai 💔

Plot:
unlimited plot but no plot…if you rlly want the plot just watch the tie in movies and show(s)

The yokai:
I ❤️ the new yokai in this game

The blasters:
it being DLC is meh but Level 5 was probably not doing well at that point so whatever. It’s not as broken as Busters 2 and not really as fun as Busters Treasure (ykw3). It was fun in a vacuum though

Characters:
Why are there so many 😭

it’s a video game

ps: keep classic sonic locked up I don’t want to ever see him in a modern game again

Overall I liked it I just wasn’t the biggest fan of the neutral ending. The pacifist ending lines up timeline-wise but I suppose (for semi obvious reasons) it’s not a very satisfying ending.

Gameplay and presentation are amazing omg props to the artists and programmers 🫶🏽‼️❤️

It’s nice that they didn’t just bring in the canon characters for fanservice. Flowey was just kinda…there…most of the time. I get he’s basically just there for neutral (and part of no mercy iirc) but he just seems like a way to ground the story in a spot in time.

Also Steamworks is not very fun and the robot (which has been patched so it’s not at bad) is rather annoying.

The Wild West is ok..but I think you spend ever so slightly too much time there. Starlo is sort of cool but also sort of dumb. The Fox Lady was interesting. Most of the characters were fun even if they didn’t really feel Toby/Temmie-ish

tl;dr: I liked the game but something about it feels missing idk

it’s okay…didn’t hate it but nothing special

God bless mobile game advertisements 🙌

tl;dr: pretty cool if not a bit janky
