My personal favorite from the series. More indulgent than the later games, and its for the better. Fun with friends.

Fun for a couple of hours. Better with friends.

I got bored about halfway through the game. The appeal of this rpg is the near unlimited choice that the game offers you (ex. you can kill literally any NPC in the game), and it's excellent capitalist critique. However I found the story to be not quite gripping, the graphics underwhelming (with significant pop in) and the gunplay to be very weak. Felt like running a FPS from the early 2000s....and not the good kind. Also (and I know this is standard for Fallout style games), not a fan of the centered camera angle + poor facial animations of NPC interactions. Always took me out of the experience. Hopefully Avowed will be better.

Story 3/10
Gameplay 6/10
Graphics/Animations 5/10
Music 6/10

Game was too long and slow paced. Not exactly the SMT x FE crossover I was expecting...just could not bring myself to finish it. If you like Persona 5 but have never played any other JRPG, play Fire Emblem: Three Houses, Ni No Kuni or Dragon Quest instead. If you choose this instead you'll just be wishing the whole time you were playing P5 instead.

I had very high expectations for Giant Squid's newest project, having enjoyed their previous title "Abzu" immensely. In fact, it was the only next gen launch game I was truly excited for. While I did enjoy my time with the Pathless, I was let down somewhat by the artistic design, which mostly remained consistent throughout the whole playthrough, marked by deep blues, reds and orange. Part of why I loved Abzu was the thrill of discovering each new section, seeing new fish, new enemies, etc. The Pathless however, was pretty similar, and I struggle to differentiate the first three areas prior to the (spoilers) Snow Section. I think this game could really have benefited from either a desert or underwater location on the island (perhaps a callback to Abzu). This would have provided more environmental differentiation and modified the gameplay similarly to how the snow section did with the wind gusts. I also found the enemies were quite similar in their design as well, being some form of walking beast with 1 or multiple heads. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the traversal system and found it to be a fascinating and smooth innovation. And as always, I enjoyed the art style employed by Giant Squid, despite the limitations. In regards to the game's length, I found my 6 hours or so to be slightly longer than necessary, and felt the game could have shaved off around 20 minutes in length to be a more tightly woven package. Overall a solid title from Giant Squid with room to improve on the next. Looking forward to it!

Wow, just wow! I was completely blown away by what I thought was going to be a mere tech demo! This game's visuals, controls, haptic feedback, and COUNTLESS easter eggs deserve acclaim! What a way to start the PS5. And FOR FREE?! If you have a PS5, there is no reason to ignore this title. Coming in a short 2.5 hours, this bite size adventure is one I will remember for a while!

Essentially Xbox's companion piece to Infamous: Second Son. A fun playthrough, despite its cookie cutter open world design and occasionally cringy characters.

Not as good as SW: TCS but lots of fun nonetheless.

One of the greatest games ever released. Truly a recreation of LA (minus the terrible traffic). Docking a star for how predatory GTA Online has gotten with microtransactions and the lack of additional story content. Also is ridiculous how they stretched this game over three console generations with little to no major improvements/additions or content.

A quirky and odd game. Didn't know what to expect going in, but the story really grew on me over time. I really appreciated the option to skip past the puzzle aspects of the game, giving the player freedom on what they want to focus on (the puzzles or the story). Also what other game has 13 endings??

A great game that came at the best time. In an odd way, this game served as therapy for me when my whole life was turned upside down by the epidemic. It felt like a return to some form of normalcy (through the daily student lifestyle) and allowed me to build myself back up (while also teaching me some life lessons, through clever and quirky humor). This was my first ever real JRPG and what a surprise it was! The story was gripping, the characters felt real and the humor was charming as hell. If you ever want a game to convince you to visit Tokyo, this is the one. It does have a few minor issues (including a very long tutorial/intro sequence), but it overcomes them with pure style and charm. And the soundtrack?? 10/10 on its own alone! I bought Royale right after I finished it and am having a blast!

If you want to disappear and live your fantasy in a medieval-magical world, this is the game for you. As soon as you complete the intro and create your own character, the world of Skyrim is yours, and you choose your story. This makes the game very replayable. The graphics and combat are a bit outdated at this point, but the world is rich with lore to rival the deepest of Tolkien's works. Just go out and enjoy the adventure.

The art style of this game is incredible and is truly a marvel to behold. I just wish there was some form of difficulty adjustment so I could explore everything the world of Cuphead has to offer. While challenging, the game is rewarding. However, I am continuously frustrated how the game employs randomness to encounters with bosses. It never feels like I beat a boss because I got better with the game (which you do improve over time, no doubt), but rather because I got a lucky round where the attacks didn't hit as hard/weren't as difficult. I know this is standard for video game design, but with a game like this where you can't change the difficulty, I often found myself restarting a boss because a certain attack pattern was more difficult than the previous one. Regardless, the music is also fantastic and relevant for the time period this game encompasses. It's incredible for an indie team (bravo to them), just wish the game either had difficulty levels or had more fair encounters. Either way, worth ya $20

Incredible world, gorgeous graphics, and nail-biting gameplay (worth increasing the difficulty for). Great PS Exclusive. Missed having numerous bosses, but excited for more to come.

"Have faith Arthur." The theme of this game. Long, a bit too drawn out (especially the ending jeez), but if you have faith it rewards you with a complex story and perhaps the greatest Western ever created for gaming.
