this is the best iterative sequel of all time. everything about the first game has been refined and made tighter. the map design is mostly focused on smaller scale infantry combat above all else, making the game feel hectic in large scale battles and competitive in small scale battles. the singleplayer is far more substantive in every mode. by far the best star wars game ever

this game seems to get buried under its sequel in discussions about the battlefront series but its a great game. the maps and movement arent as tight as in the sequel, which leads to a slower paced and more grandiose feeling game. the vehicle play in this one is honestly better than the second. the singleplayer modes are pretty rudimentary but it works as an excuse to put you into some extremely fun star wars battles

the campaign and ground to space mechanics are so neat but the controls just do not feel right and it holds this game back from being great
