If I disappear, it's probably because the Mario fandom slaughtered me after this review.

I'm in the small minority that didn't absolutely love this game though I did enjoy it. It's not my favorite Mario game though, the controls felt so wonky at times specially when motion controls and water levels were involved. I think I do really prefer 2D Mario at this point, though I'm hoping Odyssey or 3D World can change my mind. I did LOVE 3D Land on the 3DS, but that one controlled great.

it's a damn masterpiece with it's great controls and endless replayability with so much to explore on top of a really charming story? come on now.

Pretty barren in terms of story investment but fun to explore and experiment.

i don't think open world games are my thing tbh i love being limited to a space so when i see link on these open areas i want to Scream. and then i play for hours straight. DANGEROUS!!

BOTW brought me back to Zelda and it's incredible the first time you play through it. Such a new/fresh take on Zelda, and it feels great. Sadly the console holds back something that could be even more amazing, but still a great game.

Why did the internet have to ruin it

Initially loved the Web swinging and side quests, but slowly soured over time because of the soulless dialogue, the braindead combat, and the Web assist. Ending, the unique take on doc Ock, and Peter's maturity were the main things that kept me going by the end.

Had fun open world stuff, the combat was clean and satisfying. Story was pretty okay, even though I'm not a huge Spiderman nerd. Super fun game that if you find for cheap, definitely worth a try.
