Trust me, I have heard it before. Most fish will tell you to go down. This means it is probably a trap, trust me. There is only one valid solution. You must go UP! UP is the way! Trust me!

Got it for free on Epic Games and finished the first chapter.

The perspective is weird, the guns are too similar to deliver a varied experience, explosives don't destroy surrounding objects, the visuals don't look too pleasing, the music doesn't loop seamlessly... I could go on naming flaws that wouldn't seem too bad on their own, but they add up in the end.

The backtracking works somewhat, which is surprising, but that alone won't save a playable but not fun game.

I don't really get what the focus of this game is.
It does some things okay but nothing well...

The story/ dialogue is somewhat funny and I do like the overall concept of the game. It does a great job of making fun of "Startup-Tech-Bros" while also putting a spotlight on some inequities of the industry. However, most of it is just bland "Capitalism bad" commentary. Don't get me wrong, I agree, but the dialogue just isn't original enough.

This would be passable if the gameplay made up for the lack of good dialogue. Unluckily, it doesn't.
It's easy to get boxed in by a lot of enemies without a chance of escaping, throwing feels extremely clunky and stage hazards are extremely random.
However, I do like the original weapon mechanic.

All in all, this game is fun for a short while but gets really repetitive after some time.

This game really fits the mobile medium. The simple controls are pretty decent and the gameplay is fun.
My only complaint is the length of the game, which could be a little longer.

My favorite fighting game yet.

I generally don't like games that are so much luck-based.

Yes, I'm salty.

The dialogue is pretty decent and made me audibly laugh one time at the start.

The gameplay isn't very special though. Donut County's core mechanic is nice and all, but the game doesn't really build on it resulting in all the levels feeling pretty much the same with the only real difference being the environment. It would have really helped the game if each level would have had one gimmick its whole design would have built upon.
The boss fight was okay I guess.

Was the game any good?
No.

But was the mystery and the immense hype surrounding the game astonishing for me as a twelve-year-old?
Hell yeah.

Geometry Dash brought the minimal input philosophy for mobile games to absolute perfection, making it a prime example for games intended for a small screen.

Some of the electronic tracks still manifest as earworms in my head from time to time. While these are definitely no masterpieces, the music fits the game nicely and works great in tandem with the level design.

Where Geometry Dash shines the most though is its level creator. This feature made it easy for mobile users to quickly sketch out and refine their own levels, even allowing them to import custom music. Some of these levels were simply amazing and the rating system really helped at organizing the massive sum of user-created levels.

I would recommend everyone to play this game on their mobile phone! (headphones are strongly recommended)

This game has everything.
Amazing art, great design, and a fantastic soundtrack.
Although the humor is great and got quite a few laughs out of me, it might not be for everyone.

This is a perfect example of a Metroidvania. While games like Hollowknight might be a bit more polished, I'd recommend this game over it every single time.
The movement abilities are much more creative, enemies are great and bosses are fun as well and the pacing of this game is immaculate. The difficulty spikes are perfectly placed and the frequencies of quiet moments, hectic fights/ platforming, and learning new abilities are just perfect. Although the game might be a bit too long for some people's taste, it has no filler or drawn-out sections, that become boring after a while.

If you haven't had a chance to play this game, place it high on your bucket list (or Backlog)!

- SPOILER WARNING -

And then there's the big reveal!

The switch from 16 to 8-bit is just so perfectly done.
The change in art style and music is just such a beautiful homage to 16-bit and 8-bit games.
The way, the game ties this amazing mechanic together with its story and overall presentation is just genius. I love it.

This game is great!
The cute art style and dialogue, great character, and cool enemies and bosses make this a must-play for fans of action platformers. The movement and some weapons can be a little bit clunky at times, but overall the character maneuvers pretty smoothly.

My only big complaint is the checkpoint system. In my opinion, I shouldn't have to redo the whole level that is leading up to a boss I died to three times. However, running through the level a second time is not really a daunting task after having completed it one time already.

The different weapons could've been a bit more thought out too for my taste. While the yellow and green guns were the main options for combat, having different strengths and weaknesses, the design of the bubble gun and flamethrower was a bit more on the nose. Those two weapons are intended for specific types of enemies and aren't really useful on many other occasions. The only times I found myself using those guns when they were not clearly intended was for cheesing groups of enemies.

While this sounds like a harsh critique, I still enjoyed the game and would recommend fans of the genre to play it.

It's a free platform fighter that isn't bad. That fact alone should make you wanna play it for a few hours with some friends!

The weapons are unbalanced and I'd like the characters to have greater variations in playstyle, but that is just wishful thinking.

I guess it's fine. The detective part of this game doesn't really get fulfilled, instead, you just walk around and act according to the dialogue without thinking about your actions at all.

That being said, this game doesn't intend to be a puzzle game. It's a short, quirky, funny experience that lasts about an hour.
The dialogue is filled with some jokes, which are basically the main part of the game, apart from the art style.

I think it's neat, but I wouldn't recommend it.
