5✰: Phenomenal. One of the bests of all time.
4✰: Great. Thoroughly enjoyable and highly recommended, but some minor issues prevent it from scoring higher.
3✰: Average. It's good at what it does but doesn't necessarily stand out among its peers.
2✰: Bad. I didn't enjoy this game. I likely didn't finish it. Whether it's due to mechanics or narrative this game just didn't click.
1✰: Atrocious. One of the worst games I've ever played.

Great concept, I loved everything I played. Puzzles were appropriately challenging, writing was fine, new mechanics were cool.
Unfortunately, after taking a break for the night and coming back, all saves I tried to load would result in a crash. I tried verifying my game files- no luck. I tried reinstalling the game and it wiped all of my save files. Portal: Revolution was a cool mod but with the frustrating experience I've had over the past couple of days, I'm not going to bother coming back.

Deathwing is a heartbreaking entry in the ever-growing library of disappointing Warhammer 40k games. It had so much potential, and the core gameplay loop is decently fun, but the game is so atrociously optimized that it's a struggle to hit acceptable framerates. One day I might return and see if the devs have made improvements, but the experience I had was so negative that I'm not hurrying to re-visit.
