A short-and-sweet Mario handheld game that finally feels like a console game. Has its own style that's never been duplicated by Mario games since.

A hidden gem on the Game Boy Advance that's basically just King of the Monsters from SNK with Godzilla characters.

A difficult but unique run-and-gun that avoids taking after Contra or Metal Slug with its fast-paced battle sequences and its dual weapon system. Finding the ideal combination of weapons to defeat a boss or wave of enemies is key.

This game is proof once more that Kojima's finger is always on the pulse of societal and technological change. I played the translated version of this on the Saturn, and you can tell Kojima put a lot of thought into the worldbuilding of this game, especially the science behind it, which uses actual medical science with your usual Cyberpunk tropes. If you can dedicate the time to this, and you like visual novels and point-and-clicks, you owe it to yourself to play this.

Basically a game where you try and beat your previous record, and nothing more. You play it in less than 10 seconds a session, and you really gotta jerk that joystick just right. It's fun to play two player and see who can get the best time.

Load it up on your C64 tape deck and have a good time

is it the best fishing game?
no

is it a good fishing game on the atari
yes

A great spelunking game for the 2600 that's hard to come by these days because it's so sought after. Play the C64 version if the 2600 version isn't available to you, it's just as good.

COIN DETECTED IN POCKET

There's really not much to this game being that it's an arcade single-stick shooter from 1980, but seeing how far you can get in Evil Otto's electric labyrinth, taking care to destroy each of his robot minions before he gets ya, just makes for an addictive experience.

A game that's essentially a really impressive tech demo, both for arcade hardware of the time, as well as the Atari 2600, which it was eventually ported to. Even so, it's a fun little diversion, though not exactly accurate.

Hideo Kojima's first point and click game is also one of the best ever made. Though not as thorough with its hard science as its successor Policenauts, it more than makes up for it with a cast of characters you'll find yourself becoming attached to very quickly, and a gripping story reminiscent of They Live (you thought I was gonna say Blade Runner huh). This is easily the best Christmas game ever made, check it out.

Possibly the biggest masterpiece on the Genesis to not gain traction in the west, this 2D platformer is like a well-polished Zelda 2 with better hit detection. It's most certainly an RPG-lite with the ability to level up your items as well as your health.

The Arabic art style of this game no doubt went on to influence the Shantae series.

I'm not good at this game and I have not been in the several years that I've played it but it's fun regardless.

THIS GAME RULES YOU CAN USE ANYTHING AS A WEAPON

but it's pretty short, being an arcade game
