Put simply, an excellent game that suffers from lacklustre progression and lack of endgame content, as well as infrequent updates that do not intertwine with the game's pre-existing content. The developers' unwillingness to change anything and to keep the experience as pristine as possible while adding new content is by far the game's biggest flaw.
Mario Kart Wii is a really solid entry in the Mario Kart series, and is probably the second best title behind MK8DX. The track selection is next to none in terms of layout and theming. Coconut Mall is the obvious choice, but tracks such as Maple Treeway and Toad's Factory are also incredible picks that have yet to return.
MKWii unfortunately suffers from questionable physics interactions and downright unfair item balancing, although the argument could be made that the game's flaws only contribute to its charm. Unlocking everything in the game also takes significantly longer than any other entry.
In spite of all of that, I still find this game extremely enjoyable, and that's all a game really needs to be.
