Not much to say outside of what's already been said. This game is one of the most flexible, nimble RPG experiences ever crafted with outstanding vocal performances and writing. Encounter design is almost perfect. The characters are genuinely great and are people you end up caring a great deal about. This will be looked at as an all time great video game over time that I hope spawns an even greater return to CRPGs than we've seen over the past decade.

I really want to love this game but I am just not able to. There are great ideas and moments in there, but on the whole they are bogged down by slow, endless menus, an abysmal map/fast travel system, and stilted dialogue and performances.

After about 65 hours I have rolled credits on Final Fantasy XVI. Outside of some small technical issues and more side quests than was necessary, it is absolutely one of my favorite games in the series.

The world, characters, music, tone, and the story told were among the best the series has put forward. A single player entry in the series hasn't struck this chord with me since FFX. Ben Starr's vocal performance is likely one of the best video game performances of all time.
