you know i was gonna rate this lower because i dont have ps plus so i cant play multiplayer but that is not the game's fault at all and even just from the campaign alone i can say that this truly is some of the best movement, level design, and overall feel i've had from an fps maybe ever

this game definitely has its flaws (long climbing sections of pressing X for way too long, very marvel-movie dialogue at times, certain bullet sponge-y ass enemies on hard mode near the end of the game) but despite everything that this game doesn't do too well i couldn't help but finding myself being invested in the characters and story, something i didn't feel at all while playing the first uncharted game. i feel like a sucker liking the gameplay as much as i do but "find cover, shoot bad guy" never really got too old for me at any point while playing and the puzzles, while simple and at times clunky, never annoyed me either

i really can't tell whether the first uncharted game made me doubt that i'd enjoy this one THAT much or whether i'm shamefully an elitist that feels too smart to enjoy essentially "high budget big studio action movie: the game"

i never play horror games bc i hate being scared for fun but this one is actually near perfect. manages to create such a tense and scary atmosphere just from its atmosphere with no words or overtly-told story. i screamed multiple times while playing this and i loved every second of it. peak horror experience

the definition of biting off more than you can chew in terms of creativity -- maybe the most creative game ive ever played with the most wonky ass level design ive ever seen but that definitely does not always translate into fun gameplay

breaks my heart to give this game only a 7/10 because if everything worked ideally it'd be a 10. the atmosphere and style of this game are honestly perfect and when things are going well skating is fluid and the movement feels incredible. this doesn't happen nearly enough however - camera and controls are both fucked at least on the pc port and it makes for incredibly frustrating moments that aren't a result of the game's intention. i'd often get hit by the people i was supposed to tag with graffiti only to have that hit turn me in the complete opposite direction and make it so much harder to catch up with them
i need to play jet set radio future because if what i've heard about these problems being resolved while still keeping the incredible music and style of this game is true then it's probably a perfect game tbh

(edit: it's an 8/10 ive thought about this game every day since playing it)
