what if we took an existing game, once perfectly good but long since fallen from grace, and killed it so we could make a "sequel" with less features and more monetization?

i don't know this to be true, but i once heard that they promised all heroes in overwatch would be free forever, and this game was their solution to backpedaling that so they could make more money. "euuh but you can earn them for free!" that's not the same fucking thing and you know it to be true.

i enjoyed it when it first came out, but it really clicked with me this past year and i've been replaying it over and over. i have to stress that even as this is an obsidian title and not really bethesda, it is massively uplifted by the presence of mods, and being able to tailor your own experience of the game (once you're familiar with it) drastically improves it.

it's risk of rain 1 with some modernization, bug fixes, and new content. holds up very well overall. if you've never played ROR1, don't let that dissuade you, this is the superior version of that game.
