Hated the 1st game map and quit very early on. This one has sublime onboarding and a way better map.

Third act is a little long and a little glitchy. The game is a masterpiece that should prove single-player narratives are profitable.

nailed the ending.

Too much button mashing gives me nerve damage.

Absolutely infuriating at times, and I used a mp summons for final boss (but I don't feel bad about it because shit was cheap).

695/1000 in gamer score. Might mop up a few bosses?

Now onto The Awakened King DLC.

Really was hoping to see Jesse! But this game rocked. Sam Lake is an Ocean and by god Remedy is a fucking Ocean planet. What tremendous talent, all awash with light and creativity, creating this metatextual, post-modern detective-cum-supernatural, story.

Fan theory--that acknowledges ownership of IP prevents--Quantum Break was the inciting incident for the Remedy Connected Universe, both from a literal and metaphorical place. Its breaking of universe boundaries opened up the world to hiss and darkness and Oops and AWEs. A. Wake (S. Lake) then, from a Dan Harmon story-circle perspective, enters unfamiliar territory (both literal, building a connected universe and incorporating live-action in game), finding what they were looking far, etc...a circle. But, it's not a circle, it's a spiral, enter: The Connected Universe. Looking backward and forward, these narratives stack unevenly, shadow boxing each other, no beginning and no end (so to speak). Who is Max Payne? Who is Alex Casey? Who is Tom? Who is Alan?

Main story completed. Romance Andreja. 29 achievements, 47% completed. Will finish the faction quests sometime... Maybe too ambitious, but having never completed a Todd Howard RPG, it didn't feel as dated to me. The Outer Worlds was better

Perhaps the best game about OCD ever. The only game I ever felt compelled to get all the achievements.

This game is fantastic, if not a bit obtuse. You'll love it but feel infuriated at times. The fake out ending felt too real, and had I not looked up one achievement online, Id not have known that wasn't a real ending. Not fully sure what happened but it was gorgeous.

There is a bug that is preventing me from progressing / completing chapter 9

The fact that you cannot upgrade the hammer, after losing your mele weapon, and yet retain the perks you had already...just insane.

What a tremendous feat. The spirit of Arkane lives on in Wolf Eye Studios. Cannot wait for their next game.

While I recognize the OG was released in 2022, this Definitive Edition is 2023 and undoubtedly my game of the year. Bravo!

Frustrating at times. Repetative at times. But I don't know how you'd make a better time-loop game. Arkane is goat.

Series X // Solid standalone.
