I have no words while also having too many of them. I'll preface this by saying the only other FF game I played was the remake of VII. Keep that in mind.
First thing I noticed off the bat was just how fluid and fun the combat was. And especially once Clive gains more power, it gets even more crazy. Even if the story was lackluster, the game would have kept me hooked with alone.
Except I was very much interested in the story. And I appreciated how the game helped you along with the lore, like ATL (active time lore) and being able to read about different places/characters whenever you pleased. Really helped me follow along. And what a story it was.
And the characters along the way? It was great to meet all these different people and actually begin to care about them. Oftentimes stories will throw people at you and it's quite apparent that they want you to care. But that wasn't the case here. The writers accomplished this effortlessly.
Can't close out this review without mentioning our protagonist, Clive. I recall the initial promo for this game making him seem like your typical unfeeling, hyper-masculine Video Game Man. But that is not what we got here. A badass, yes. But incredibly empathetic and caring for those he cares for. Ben Starr did a terrific job bringing this character to life. Clive Rosfield is for sure one of my most favorite video game protagonists.
All in all. Fucking loved this game. Now if you'll excuse me, I have a New Game + to start.

I am usually averse to playing horror games, but this I gravitated to for some reason. But apparently it was a good reason because holy hell. What a game this was.
I have one negative thing to say about this game, so I'll get this out of the way first: I played this game on PlayStation 5, and the resolution on performance mode was...not great. Having spent 14 hours essentially staring at Isaac's back, it was clear that the image quality was not as sharp as other games that I have played on performance mode. Moving on!
Isaac as a character and a protagonist is fantastic. Easily one of my most favorite video game protags. Also, he doesn't constantly talk to himself (the player) like other major game releases do lately, which I greatly appreciated. And he's quite likeable and relatable.
Gameplay I thought was simplistic, which by no means is a bad thing. I quite liked the way it was set up. You got a plethora of weapons to choose from, but not too many. Took me a bit to get used to the zero-gravity, but it wasn't all that complicated. Flying around got kinda fun, not gonna lie. The puzzles were fun, even frustratingly so.
And man. The story. I honestly was not expecting to be as intrigued as I ended up being. I got really interested in finding out where the story was going and what all the plot threads led to. And I was not disappointed when I got to the end! There was a definite conclusion while still leaving a hint of something more.
Instantly one of my most favorite games ever. If Motive wants to remake Dead Space 2, I'm here for it.

Never played a Call of Duty game before, so keep that in mind.
Campaign was pretty solid. The acting was top notch. Ghost and Soap's banter was memorable. Combat was fun and the sound design is on point. All in all a good time.
My complaints lie in the set up of this game. It took me several hours to even play the game once inputting the disc into my console. Parts of the game were separated into different "packs" and it was very jarring, coming from someone who largely plays single-player story-focused games. Made me consider never buying a CoD game ever again to be honest lol.
I've been playing private matches a lot as well and I experience lag fairly often. And it's concerning because...it's a PRIVATE match. Why am I experiencing lag when it's not even a true online match? Activision, turn on your location; I want to talk

I think this game is more fun and interesting if you play it in bursts. Like, 30-45 minute bursts. It's 99% a mail delivery simulation with bits and pieces of the protagonist talking with the populace of the small town this game is set in.
I say this because it got boring for me if I played it any longer than an hour. But for the time I played for under an hour, it was pretty relaxing. It's a charming game, even with the voice cast that sound like this was their first job and the developers sometimes struggling to make a solid 3D, open world game.
I'd get this game on sale or if it eventually gets added to subscription like PS Plus.

Played this game a year and a half after release with all the (current) patches plus the PS5 upgrade, so I didn't encounter the rocky start others did. But man this game is hella good. Voice acting for V is top notch, and for most of the main cast of characters (Keanu does his best, bless him).
The main story is extremely interesting (and can be completed pretty quickly if you ignore most side content). The writing is SO GOOD. Combat mechanics makes this game hella fun to play.
I also have to say that the relationship between V and Johnny throughout the course of this game? Chef's kiss I love it. I love this game.
