rock solid monkey-based 2d platformer. great level design and control, definitely recommend.

Zerei 97% do jogo, peguei quase todas as letras KONG e fiz as fases secretas do mundo 1,2,3,5,6,7..
3 - Donkey Kong Country - Snes
2 - Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze - Switch
1 - Donkey Kong Contry 2 - Snes

I don't care what everyone says this game is way better on Wii. 30 FPS and the small screen size are way too big of a trade off for not having to waggle (which is not a big deal). +the 3DS is not a very comfortable system for platformers.

Finally beat the stupid friggin’ banana temple.

I was planning on playing this game to completion.

But then mirror mode.

No.

The 3DS version is a bit of a nightmare to 100% at 30fps. Extra levels are neat, but not all that special. Honestly playing through this again I'm just struck by how much better Tropical Freeze is, that game is one of the best 2D platformers ever made wheras this one is just "solid."

A really fun Donkey Kong game that lifts from Country yes but adds a lot of its own spins on it! Exclusive to the 3DS is a bonus world which is an even bigger reward for clearing all the challenges from before! Great platformer

BEST PLATFORMING GAME EVER MADE.
Retro Studios never misses, and their adaptation of the DKC games is LEGENDARY.
A key standout is the incredible level design, which throws something new at the player every turn.
The controls are great. If a platformer game has a speedrun option, then you know its got good controls.
The music is astounding.
All around, probably one of the best gaming experiences I've ever had.

It's not a bad game, but it definitely would've been better if it had a little bit more of its own identity and didn't have too many gimmicky levels

que level design DOIDO meu amigo completamente insano UM HOMEM LOUCO NAO SABENDO QUE ERA IMPOSSIVEL FOI LA E FEZ ESSE JOGO

Donkey Kong Country once again proves to be a difficult platformer and just like the reboot of Punch-Out!! on the Wii, this game doesn't pull its punches despite being a more modern game. There are parts of this game that are just as, if not more difficult than in some of the other games, though this game feels a bit weird with its difficulty. Since each area is based off of a theme, some gimmicks are a lot more annoying than others, such as the Cave levels having a lot more Minecart levels or the Volcano levels having the insta-kill lava, which is to be expected but it's a platforming thing I never really liked. The level design itself is pretty fair, though I feel like the movement could've been improved on. I don't think the game feels bad to play by any means, hell I could say they even improved it a bit due to Diddy Kong having a jetpack for a short hover rather than switching between the two. At the same time, the movement just feels sort of awkward at times in a way that's not horrible, but it does make things feel a little more difficult than normal. Overall, pretty solid game with tough level design but very unique gimmicks that enhance the game but also make it harder.

DK Country Returns 3D gets a lot right, but the controls are absolutely awful and some bosses are forgettable. When it comes to controls, the jumping, dodging, and barrel rocket were all victims of poor controls. I'd often slip off a platform and die even when I didn't touch anything, the jumping and dodging were unresponsive sometimes, and the rocket steering was a nightmare. Other than the controls though, I think this game is great! The level design is very well done with a nice variety of everything. Each world has it's own unique feel to it with how these levels are made, and the platforming never felt repetitive. I liked how near the end it switched up to silhouettes which graphically looked amazing and added more to the game. The narrative is pretty good and different from the previous games. It was nice to switch it up from save this character to what they set up in here. While it controls terribly, DK Country Returns 3D is a welcome addition to this amazing franchise that I enjoyed a lot. I will try the Wii version soon though to see if the controls are better there!

More difficult then you'd think

Great plat-former; who doesn't love donkey kong

No monkeying around, this is easily my favorite Donkey Kong game. I recently replayed Tropical Freeze which cemented that I just plain like this one more.

Great platformer, played on the Wii originally and the 3DS version is better just by virtue of not having to shake it to perform a roll, but it also has some additional stages that the Wii version did not. All around, this is the definitive version of an already excellent game

Full of really great ideas but the unresponsive controls really get on your nerves sometimes and, towards the end of the game, some of the level design can feel pretty unfair. You'll be doing a fun bit of platforming and then something ridiculous or stupid will happen and you'll have to do a whole section again. It has so much potential and therefore it feels bad to not give it a better rating. I'm therefore looking forward to playing Tropical Freeze. On the soundtrack... I actually think the best tracks are the original ones but there's so few... Mast Blast is such a banger and the funny rocket levels have good themese too, even if the levels themselves can be pretty unfair.

The strengths of this game are hampered by the 3DS' specs, namely the 30fps and 240p resolution which not just affected my enjoyment of the game, but also my ability at playing it.

The difficulty of the game aside from the consequences of the technical limitations was also far too trial & error and punishing for my taste towards the end. I made it to World 8, the volcano world, before deciding to drop the game. They really needed to dial back the amount of mine cart and rocket barrel levels.

The music wasn't good enough to have kept me playing, due not just to the lack of David Wise, but also because even the DKC1 remixes sounded uninspired rather than charming and nostalgic.

This didn't scratch the itch that Tropical Freeze left me with, though I can't say I regret having played it.

I significantly prefer the wii version of this game. The slightly better graphics and double the frame rate make a load of difference to me with how weighty and precise the platforming can be. Also hot take: Shake to roll > Button Mash to roll.

It's DKCR but with a roll button!

Good way to experience a fun game that fixes the issues that a lot of people tend to have with the controls of the wii original.

Such simple but golden platforming fun. With a hard twist towards the end

Nnnnope. The frame-rate was too dreadful I couldn't force myself to do more levels.

An interesting experiment (very similar to the Xenoblade Chronicles one) since they managed to put a Wii game on 3DS. And that's about it.

the qol improvements here over the wii version are so massive it's not even funny
