This game is unbelievably scuffed! The cutscenes are terrifyingly void and lifeless, the gameplay is unpolished and way too slow-paced to have fun, the music doesn’t exist 70% of the time making it feel like I’m play-testing a game that hasn’t come out yet, the bosses are ridiculously hard due to the unreasonably quick draining stamina meter, and the story… well the story would be perfectly serviceable if all of the other elements weren’t as awful as they are. I’m shocked its this bad, but I should’ve spotted the developer’s laziness when I saw the box art for the first time.
Dog why was Spongebob's model so scuffed he's always at the forefront of these games. He's got hella eyeliner tho. Anyway this was the only good Nicktoons game bc you actually go to areas from the shows and the zones are pretty comfy, the sequels were all just, like, generic islands and industrial regions and shit
Spongebob, I love you, but get in my way again, and there will be blood. I never could get past Spongebob's stage as a kid. This game is frustrating, even for an adult, but I am glad to have finally closed the chapter on this apparently unbeatable game from my childhood. My favourite part was when Mr. Krabs showed up, but didn't say anything, presumably because they couldn't get Clancy Brown.
This game really is not very entertaining. I love the concept of this game a lot. It's a lot of fun to see these characters interacting and its really charming. That's all the positives I got for this game tho. The gameplay is not engaging or special at all. It's bland and the graphics are def dated. It's a boring co-op game with a really charming premise.
This game was cool and also sort of dull. As a kid you see this and say "oh wow this is the best game ever" when to be honest it's an ok platformer, stil amazing crossover though. However I'm speaking in terms of having played the GameBoy Advanced version, the PS2/Gamecube Versions might be better idk let me know.
It's an okay way to waste a few hours, especially if you're a fan of any of these shows.
The controls are difficult but you get used to it, a lot of the abilities you unlock are very finicky and how you defeat bosses isn't really explained (I had to look up how to defeat two of the lategame bosses).
I had a bit of fun but the thing that made me abandon this game was the Giant Flea-Bot boss fight.
It keeps shooting you and jumping so you can't get near it and you can only get rid of a small portion of its health before it jumps on a pedestal and slowly heals up, prompting you to jump up to these drums and knocking them down.
Drums that are above a slow moving lift, and there's smaller minions trying to kill you too so you keep getting hit by them while you have to rush up and hit this drum before it heals.
By the time you've got up there and hit it, it's already back at full health.
It was near the end of the game so fuck it I don't really care enough.
The level select cheat doesn't even work so I can't even skip it.
You have to hold L2 and hit a bunch of buttons, but one of them is X and X opens the level you've highlighted.

"Nicktoons Unite!" is a game that's best enjoyed with friends, offering a fun multiplayer experience. However, playing solo can quickly become frustrating due to slow progression and repetitive gameplay. While the game's premise of uniting beloved Nickelodeon characters is intriguing, some levels fail to deliver engaging challenges, leading to a sense of monotony. Despite its shortcomings, the game does have its moments of enjoyment, especially when played with others. Overall, "Nicktoons Unite!" is a mixed bag that may entertain in short bursts but falls short of providing a consistently satisfying experience.
