- 60% Warcraft 3, 35% Banished, 5% Banner Saga I was surprised just how much I loved this game. It can feel too hard at first, but that just means you have to get used to the ebb and flow of its particular strategy. Stick with it and you'll feel that same pleasure you got from Warcraft campaigns back in the day. Add on that randomized single player maps, a slew of achievements, and a small, but present, online community and you'll find yourself coming back for more. My only wish was that the campaign was longer!

Nice mix between 4X and RTS. Very polished.
I like the "4X in a 90 minutes match" aspect but I'd rather play Age of Empires 4.

Great strategy game. It reminds me of Age of Mythology but more complex. RNG elements can ruin games for you though, and the different clans are not balanced enough for competitive play.

It's a pleasure to see someone is still trying to make original strategy games in the barren land of this forgotten genre. It's quite an addictive mix of economy and warfare, where you have to constantly balance your production, exploration and army. Interesting mechanic with "zones", giving it a bit of 'turn-based' feel. Two decent campaigns, myriad of clans to try. I had fun playing on and off over a long time, although it gets a bit repetitive if you play it for long.

A very fun strategy game and a nice game to play collaboratively with pals.

really fun and kinda cute rts! with my only experience in the field being starcraft 2 im glad its more of a grand strategy hybrid specimen of the genre, makes thing easier for me to manage, while still retaining deep complexity and nuance. good game!

Good game to introduce someone to rts

Gave up on this one. The actual gameplay is…not super hard? But I’m just not good at it. Fun when it works though.

Fun and simple RTS thats much faster than any other games ive played. Easy to learn and very fun to play with friends, however RNG elements can be a complete pain in the ass.

Quite original for an RTS game. It reminds me a bit of something Stronghold because of the way population and combat works. However, base building is completely different since there are no supply lines and such.
People call this a 4X game too which is kind of true. Obviously it can't afflict you with a case of "one more turn" when it's played in real time, but the upside is that you can complete a game within a single hour, and that's a decent trade-off.
I would say the way that the Viking theme is characterized is one of its weakest aspects, but the main campaign is fun nonetheless. I found the writing to be a bit dull, but it's elevated by some good voice acting.
As for presentation, I don't particularly like the aesthetics of the game because they look a tad generic. I could say the same about the music and sound effects, which is kind of bad for an RTS which tend to have very memorable voice lines and such. For as good as the voice acting is in the campaign, units during skirmishes communicate exclusively through grunts.
Apart from multiplayer there are skirmishes against the AI and conquest mode which is generally harder and adds some random elements to keep things fresh. I think that's great for singleplayer content.
Overall, I'm left with positive feelings about Northgard. To me, it's not the most memorable game, but it's fairly original and quite fun nonetheless.

A better version of Civilization.

This was pitched to me as "an RTS for beginners" and while that isn't an inaccurate descriptor I do think it does the game a disservice. It's obviously not as complex as some of the more famed entries in the genre, but it is a really fun entry point and something I enjoyed a lot more than I expected as someone who has played a decent number of RTS games.

Fun game, but sadly there's not a huge amount of depth to it. Despite the different clans and worlds, replayability in this game really drags after a few hours.

Eu gosto pra caralho deste jogo, acho ele maravilhoso, amo a temática dele, mas que jogo DIFÍCIL de aprender a jogar

It's alright.

It feels like a very introductory city-builder/real-time-strategy. Basically, you manage 3 renewable resources and interchangeable workers/soldiers, not unlike a 90's RTS. The city building is limited to about 9 non-military buildings, some of which you may never even build in a game. Then to make the game a little bit more complex, there's 2 advanced resources for other projects and 3 different types of perk trees with their own paths, each dependent on the clan you choose.

It's a pretty game with decent music that doesn't feel repetitive. It has a very simple and accessible user interface. The difficulty scales by numbers, which means the harder the difficulty, there'll be +1 wolf or +1 bear per region.

For a veteran RTS/4X/City-building fan, I find it pretty boring. However, this is something I could share with family as an easy, fun strategy game to step into other games of the genre, or just put hours and hours into.

I still recommend it because it does what it's supposed to very well and the free play can generate a lot of fun, quick games.

Some friends will pick this over civ 6 because of game time to complete, this isn't my pick but it's growing on me.

Slow paced RTS I feel. Maybe I am playing it wrong. Not enough variety to encourage me to complete the campaign. Would rather just play age of empires tbh.

O sistema de clãs permite várias experiências diferentes com esse jogo, bem legal

I thoroughly enjoyed learning how to play this one. There's much I haven't tried: online pvp, certain clans that were DLC, or complete the story. My 9 hours is nothing to how much content there is to explore in Northgard. It's a RTS game which isn't something I play a lot. I do like it felt more quicker pace than other strategy games.

You could get attacked at any time and other "events" would spice up each game. One game I was hit with a blizzard during the entire winter months; I quickly ran out of food since I wasn't prepared. Another game I kept getting attacked by undead. I think each map has unique objectives and neutral races that can hurt or help you. I like you can trade with these neutral races and they can become friendly towards you. Or you can decide to straight up attack them.

I had fun in this game and I'm not fully "finished."

Solid take on a Viking style RTS game. Simple to learn, but difficult to master. Each clan plays very differently. Has multiple different ways and strategies to close out the game. Overall a great introductory into RTS games.
