Played through the adventure mode again, and man is this a good kart racer. The roster of characters is hysterical and the controls are tight (while remaining unique from mario kart) Really enjoyed the mission variety also.
Maybe doesn't deserve 5 stars in a vacuum, but I can't rate it lower in good conscience. Will be back for the time trials.

Esse jogo é muito bom, ele consegue ser um Mario Kart que deu certo, a mecânica de transformação é muito bem executada, os personagens são legais, eu realmente não entendo as críticas a esse jogo, ele é muito legal e divertido.
Sadly my Vita died before I could finish this game. But it was...okay. Probably the experience in console is better, but I don't think I'll go back to finish this whenever I fix the Vita.
I first played this game shortly after it released, and at the time I was really impressed at some of the interesting ideas it brought to the Kart racing genre, as opposed to some, let's admit it, fairly static series like Mario Kart. Playing it through again, I still think it has lessons to offer Mario Kart, but I don't think it's as cut and dry which is superior. I really enjoyed the mission-based single player mode, and it's the main thing I would like to see in a future Mario Kart. Yeah, Mario Kart DS had a mission mode, but it wasn't integrated into unlocking anything. This has a lot of variety in its missions and lets you unlock characters and stages. My biggest complaint with this game are the items. I would often use an item, only to have the opponent turn back up within a few seconds. The items are too weak to really impact other racers, but are powerful enough to be annoying when hit; a perfect sweet spot of annoyance.
Definitely a step up from its predecessor. The racing feels a little better, but still doesn't have the goofy fluidity of a good Mario Kart game. The transformation mechanic is actually pretty interesting, and provides a lot of variety for level design. Planes are super fun and really open up the racetracks. Boats are cars but weirder. A better game than the original, but still not as good as any modern Mario Kart.

Both the best Sonic game there is and one of the best racing games of all time.
Never has a kart racer given the thrill of constantly being on your toes and considering the next move to make. Learn the short cuts and how to optimize flip tricks, learn how your movements dodge items. Such immense satisfaction that has never been reached again.
One of the best Kart racers I've ever played. The mechanics are simple and very rewarding to master. You'll be going at absurd speeds once you get the hang of it.
The race tracks are all excellent love letters to the games they were based off of and it even shows in its glorious soundtrack.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a more skill based Kart racer or any SEGA fans that haven't already played it.

Really good. Might get it again for PC actually. Slightly too strict in gating progress maybe but there's a read Dreamcast vibe to the experience.
Also I initially thought Danica was called "Danny Kilpatrick" and that is very funny because I went to school with him.

Transforming courses is a genius concept for a kart racer and I hope another game cough Mario Kart 9 cough rips it off in the future.
A very good arcade race, I would not like to elevate my rating to an absolute, because there are characters from the Sonic universe, but at one time it gave 25+ hours of good gameplay.
