There was a time in high school where I would buy pretty much anything Star Wars. That unfortunately included this game. This is one of two PS1 fighters (the other being D&D, but that's a story for another time) that I can honestly say ruined my hype for fighting games. I was so into fighting games I was playing each one as they hit the arcade (R.I.P. Aladdin's Castle) and would rent them as they hit console to see if I should buy them. Wish I would've done that here but it was scratching two different fanboy itches. Where to begin. The controls in this game make the controls from Resident Evil (the original, not the remake) feel well polished and refined. It is horrible trying to execute any of the special moves. The balancing is pure nonsense. The graphics were forgettable, which is pretty astonishing given the roll that LucasArts had been on before this. The amount of resources thrown at this game's development is mind boggling once you lay hands on the finished product. Don't let them fool you either, this game had the full disposal of ILM and they settled on releasing this. I'll save you the trouble, go play Star Gladiator. It is better in literally every respect as a fighting game while appeasing any requirement for the Sci-Fi genre.
This game controls like absolute shit. There's no balancing, nothing makes sense, the window to do combos is insanely small. I hate it. Just a really annoying game.
The announcer is funny and the graphics look pretty nice, there's a lot of cheats or secrets or whatever that are cool, the endings on arcade are laughably brief.
Idk what else to add, this is just a really bad fighting game. Unfortunate!

Despite it being known as that bad Star Wars PS1 fighter that lead Capcom to develop their own sci-fi fighter, due to licensing, this is not that bad. Does seem like LucasArts studied up on the fighting games around the time, clearly Tekken-inspired with the title and original character Arden Lyn literally rocking an iron fist. While it can't grapple with the best at the time, getting a hold of the movelist did open my eyes, it's kinda fun and playable even. The lack of FMV endings is disappointing, but John Williams' score is everywhere in this and the Star Wars universe is represented in an aesthetically pleasing way that the PS1 uniquely provides. We also had this game when I was younger, so that does play a part in my enjoyment.
Edit: Ok, apparently there's endings in this, very vague information online about how to get them though. I played it on easy so that might have been why I didn't get one on my playthrough?

Star Wars fighting games are an amazing idea, but what is this? The Story is that Darth Vader finds a woman called Arden Lyn, who is a master of an old martial art known as Teras Kasi, (I don't know how to type the above a thing on a keyboard) to stop Luke and his friends, this is a good idea for a fighting game's plot, except for the fact that if Arden is the only user of Teras Kasi, then why are her fighting moves the same as the others? The Voices suck, don't sounds like they care. The Graphics are bad, they may have been decent in 1997, but they are garbage now. The Gameplay has you play as star wars characters, and fight each other, despite the easy to understand idea of the game, the controls are awful, they don't always register, they are slow to attack, the AI is so back you can trick them to falling off the pit, characters can use weapons against ones that don't, and we are supposed to think the unarmed person can win, certain players are too tough to beat even with help, and because everyone's moves feel the same, playing as Arden is pointless. The Music is the same as the movies, nothing else needs to be said, that's great. Star Wars: Masters of Teras Kasi solely ruined the chances of a Star Wars fighting game from ever being released, except as an option in the Revenge of the Sith videogame.
