would you play a Metroidvania with interesting a never-before-seen world, along with some funny writing and some meanless collectibles that you always collect because a little part of yourself will die if the 99 isn't 100.................well then play Control...................oh yeah this is good too I guess
The first hours of the game are delightful. The humor is pretty good, the feeling of exploring and unknown planet and the art design is excellent.
However, during the journey, the game mechanics fails to evolve and it quickly became clear that they are gonna remain the same for full length. By the end of the game you can get a kinda bored with repeating the same gameplay loop over and over again; not to mention, the gunplay ain't that good either.
It had potential, but it fails to reach it.

Video games do exploration better than any other medium. It’s awe-inspiring to roam the sand-covered dunes in Assassin’s Creed Origins or the alien planets in No Man’s Sky. But exploration, as showcased by those two examples, often comes with an intimidating amount of scale. Journey to the Savage Planet is keen on evoking that same sense of wonder yet in a play space that isn’t measured in square miles or the amount of planets it houses. And, through a well-paced upgrade loop and interesting world, it manages to bottle that adventuring spirit in a more digestible package.

It’s a fun little exploration game with nice humour and cool hidden secrets with fun platforming puzzles to reach them BUT the gunplay is atrocious and there are too many fights. It didn’t really need this, it worked well enough with just exploration and environmental puzzles and quirky science challenges.
