EASILY the best game in the series (Speaking about gameplay specifically! The favorite story award goes to Yakuza 7)

Gave me the Yakuza brainrot. That says a lot.

meu jogo favorito, simplesmente perfeito

one of my fav yakuza games

Kazuma Kiryu has never killed anyone ever

(PC - Steam)

What i liked :
- My first entry in the franchise, being a prequel made it quite easy to get into and get a grip of how things work

- the story was my favorite part of it, although it had some issues.

-i love how serious yet goofy it takes itself.

- almost all the characters are great.

- the combat for the most part felt really satisfying , switching styles was so unique.

- both protagonists have their time to shine properly, yet i feel majima shined brighter this time.

- its so packed with content aside from the main story, i won't do them but i like that they are there.

-the soundtrack is album worthy.

-i find it funny how Respectifully Horny this game gets.

-it ran great on my average computer, the pc port has its issues but performance was not one of them.

What i dont like :

-clearly made to be played with a gamepad.

- the story drags, it draaags on.

- expect everyone to pull a plot twist on you and say that everything is going according to plan despite how effed up everything is going on, they pull that on each chapter, they all talk about the same plan but i feel this ''plan'' gets a new DLC added every chapter until you start asking yourself why go to such lenghts.

- the game did crash on me twice.

- manual...saving...

- the last boss was the guy with the least screen time ? i mean.. i dont have much of a reason to hate him that much, at least not if i'm not following the copious amount of pre-planning everyone seems to have in this game.

- they really pulled a ''woozy i know youre blind, but you gotta see this shit''.

- keyboard feels clunky to use, specially the mouse, the camera gets stuck everywhere, and there is quicktime events that use the letters j k and L when your fingers are in the mouse and the wasd.

how this game manages to balance a really serious and good story with all the goofy shit is beyond me. combat is also really really good. just shows a little jank in areas as all RGG games tend to, but thats not really a bad thing

i love playing as a dragon and a dog

¿No, verdad?

I went into this game expecting to not like it very much and ho boy was I wrong. I've never seen a game that manages to balance serious and silly tones as well as this one. I absolutely loved the storyline and all the extra substories in this. The minigames were a mix, while they were all at least entertaining the first time, some became a big chore after a couple plays. I didn't really care for the combat too much as I expected, it was pretty repetitive and not very difficult since you could pause and heal at any time, it just loved wasting your time with enemies blocking forever or stun locking you. Still, despite that, it's one of my favourite games I've ever played.

My introduction to this wonderful series and I wouldn't wanna be introduced any other way. The whole cast is spectacular and the game's story is a lot of fun as silly as it gets, plus there's just so much to do.

This was my first Yakuza game, and man am I glad I played it. A fluid combat system full of goofy wrestling moves, an addicting nightclub and real estate management simulator, and a compelling, emotional story that had me tearing up at several points all in one package is amazing. But the fact that all of these things fit so flawlessly with each other is incredible.

I've never seen anything sit on the fence between campy, goofy nonsense and genuine heart-pounding, emotional drama quite like Yakuza. It's a work of art.

10/10

Upon revisiting this one, I realized I have no qualms with not only giving this a 10/10, but calling one of if not my favorite games of all time. I'm sorry to everyone that I won't shut up about it, but also I don't really care because it's a genuine masterpiece.

Protecc Makoto.

One of the best games ever and my favourite in the series so far, the story has many emotional turns

Greatest Prequel In the history of Videogames. While getting back to it after playing all the different games of the series could be rough, going in fresh just EXPLODES YOUR MIND AND BODY WITH HEAT (But you might get into the mood of the Japanese Bubble era first). It's a perfect introduction to this magical series full of Violence and Human Spirit everywhere you go, and beautiful sights and sounds (see karaoke and disco) at every corner. It simply is a living and breathing unforgettable world. The 2 Protagonists: Majima, and Kiryu-san, could be compared to those of JoJo, and they will be the two people that change your world forever with their incredible original and sometimes contrasting characters and qualities. Obvious Must Buy/Must Play 5/5

I completly fell for this game's outstanding story and performance from VA's. I'd say everything that makes this game worth picking up is the story it wants to tell.

From a gameplay prespective I felt like it was a huge push back to make me play large sessions. The large ammount of cutscenes and low interaction from the player. I just think it was a tiring way of the tell the story. It's a bit of a slowburner at the beggining also. The combat is very basic and repetitive and the gameplay sections (apart from some mini games) are always the same thing with very rare new gameplay segments. Side stories are good, bad, and boring you just play the roullette of what are you discovering next.

Despite the low interactivity through the game, the story itself makes a solid reason to play it
