Dead Rising? More Like Fetch Rising cuz for fuck's sake why did replace the escorts with so many fetch quests. Go here and destroy these things, go here then here then here then there then here and get me these items. Oh hope you don't have any cool combo weapons you stumbled on because you need to get more items than you have inventory because you haven't upgraded your inventory so might have to do two trips.

But hey that's all okay, don't worry about the weapons because you know that whole thing about getting super sick rare weapons in the wild and going HOLY SHIT, nah just get them from the locker that's barely limited.

Speaking of vehicles, squishing zombies feels so fucking good. Shame that the map is literally four chunks connected by strings and have a lot of exploding nonsense to make you go boom in the road that's super easy to hit. Oh, but you could take a nice lil shortcut here to avoid it all, but you have to get rid of your car and walk because there's a bunch of blockage and could get the vehicle stuck in a region of the map. But hey, just use that locker for cars too bro.

I don't know why the locker annoys me as much as it does when I could easily avoid it, but I feel the existence of it alone devalues the "OH SHIT THAT THING" factor. The skill tree's existence is just generic and would just rather have a straight forward progression. The game being filled with your garbage collectables that do nothing excluding the blueprints is nothing but to pad the game with busy work with the excuse that it gives you experience points.

Very few psychos, and the ones that are there I just don't care for. Found everything very boring and generic, I don't know, I played a bit of it and it was one of those moments where I was playing the game and went "What the fuck am I doing? Am I even having fun?" and the answer was no so I just stopped.

I liked this game at first but oh boy after a while the game is so annoying to play. You're constantly chased by zombies and they are packed everywhere. It is so annoying to get attacked everywhere you go constantly and hearing that chase theme. Vehicles break very easily and roadblocks are constantly in your way. The boss fights are good but they are not challenging at all. Too many unlockables and they are not even marked on your map. Too many side quests as well. What this game however does right is the graphics, weapon and vehicle combos (I love them) and of course bosses. It's just becoming so annoying after a while and doesn't feel like Dead Rising 1 at all. No matter how many zombies you kill you will constantly get jumped and attacked. Can't even dodge them.

Another in the list of games I wanted to give another shot. Given how much fun I just had replaying Dead Rising 2 recently, doing 3 complete runs and and getting the S Rank Ending.
I came away hating this game even more then when I got bitterly dissapointed by it back in 2013. From its mechanics to its tone, aesthetics and characters: Dead Rising 3 is the posterchild of a large multimillion dollar Publisher not understanding or caring why something is popular and steamrolling its appeal flat for maxium mass market chare. We need an Xbox exclusive, Zombies are popular, make populare Zombie Game.

Quite interesting in heinseit how they arguably ripped off the entire look of the then relativly new TV smash hit that was The Walking Dead. Maybe if this wasnt labbeld Dead Rising and comitted to its more serious tone than their could have been something here but everytime this game actually gets to be true to its name sake the tone clashes so awkwardly. Nick Ramos and his crew dont fit at all into this franchise. I get how they wanted more grounded and plucky characters to root for in this wacky, nonsensical series but that doesnt work if the game constanly winks and smiles at the audience. We know Dead Rising is stupid. A series about a snarky reporter beating zombies with gumball maschines and parkbenches. A stonedfaced Father who can weare Baby Pjs and tape chainsaws to rowing paddles.
The Comedy comes from rarely, if ever, pointing at the absurdity. This is life or death for these characters, while we the audience get some credit for knowing thats its absurd without it beeing explained. Ironicly its the reason why people got so invested in the series to begin with.

On the gameplay front the game doesnt fair much better. From the very begining Capcom Vancouver make it clear that they think the main appeal of the series is killing zombies in wacky ways. There is no escorting survivors anymore. Baffling since there is so much focus on Veycles. The Timer is completely irrelevant now, killing all decision making and navigation that was the main fun of the previous Games. All that there is left is killing zombies, wich is further trivilisd by beeing able to craft combo weapon on the fly. Capcom Vancouver in fact hit all the notes in order to make it not fun. In the end I did get about half way through the story before beeing completely misserable and desinstalling it to make space for any other game in the known universe.

This is literally just Dead Rising 3 rereleased on Windows PC with 'most' of the DLC and stripped of the Xbox phone app junk. The only reason this gets a slightly higher score than the original release is due to the value of modding. Even the most basic ones make a world of difference. I suggest the very easy .txt edit that removes the pesky 30 fps cap, making all the animation look buttery-smooth. I can also recommend the camera mod that replicates Dead Rising 1's camera angle.

These two alone make a huge difference in how much more appealing the game looks. Please, if you happen to own the game on Steam, do yourself a favor and slap these mods on.

Obviously I think me playing through this with a friend helped a lot with my feelings of the game as a whole but I can say wholeheartedly this is a pretty mediocre zombie game. And I think that this type of game obviously 10 years removed from it's release seems drawn out but was big for the zombie craze at the time. Fun time with friends but overall very meh experience. Last mission is fuckin annoying though

Loses points for having a bug that completely reset my progress when I started the DLC. I won't really review the game itself since I've got individual reviews of the main game & all DLC.

The main game is good. The DLC's are fucking bad. They add absolutely nothing. You don't need to explain why minuscule things happened in the main story. They all add a ridiculous amount of collectables that are meaningless. The missions are boring fucking go from one poitn of the map, go somewhere, go abck, go somewhere.

Dead Risings launch during the 2006 year was something that remains a special gaming experience for me that no other game has come to match.

I’m sadden to say that Dead Rising 3 does not completely match the standard that it’s predecessor had created.

Dead Rising 3 expands on the open world aspect of its franchise to help compensate for its lack of character development and charisma its fellow titles had before it.

I've been a fan of the series since jumping in as Frank West chasing a story and sadly the game has never had as an interesting character as Frank. I believe the game is alright, but I wouldn't rate it too highly.

The Good:
-Great crafting mechanic. A bit hilarious with some of the combos, but some very destructive and fun combos
-Lots of endless zombies!
-A large open world that feels like a real city
-More than enough time for missions
-Levelling up gives you the ability to substitute parts that are similar as well as a choice.
-Safe houses give you the ability to regain weapons you've either crafted or items you've picked up so you can combine them.
-The plot is interesting, but disappointing in some aspects, which I won't spoil here.

The Bad:
-Due to roadblocks, which do make for some creative ways of travel, can be a real pain when you need to get to the third area from the 1st.
-The bad-end exploration where you find people who killed themselves it plays a depressing music tune, but you get awful puns like someone who set themselves on fire and it says "They couldn't stand the heat." or other stupid lines which don't reflect the music, nor the character's reaction and comes off like a kid trying to use dark humour.
-When I was first playing the game I had no idea how to get rid of Survivors. In previous games, you simply brought them back to the safe house as the idea was you were trying to get survivors out of the area or, in the case of Dead Rising 2, hole up in a bunker until the military sweep up. Here, survivors are 2 types. Ones who you save and run off, earning you PP whilst others tag along with you like old games, but that is their main use. As backup muscle and it's never explained how to remove them from the party.

The Ugly:
-Though there aren't any issues with graphics normally, there is often a terrible "pop-in" effect where everything is low rez for a few seconds and then cleans itself up.
-This will be hit or miss with people but most of the character's themselves are rather bland and i never really felt a sense of urgency when they were in danger. I felt about as concerned as Willy Wonka "No, stop, come back.
-for me there's not enough to warrant a second play-through unless you are one of those people who needs 100% completion. Besides from that there's really no other reason.

Overall I'd recommend this game on a discount, but certainly not the full price as I don't feel it quite justifies it.

Fun in it's own way, but a very noticeable downgrade from 2 and OTR. Characters aren't as good, Psychopaths are decent, soundtrack took a drop because Celldweller only did a whole 3 tracks. DLCs are also just ok. Controls and the untweakable camera and frame issues really make you realize it was a "console first" production.

Fun sequel, has some great ideas and improvements to gameplay, misses the mark a lot with the story and boring characters. It could've been better gameplay-wise with some tweaking, making the game harder and placing much more emphasis on exploration by not having weapon locker rooms or the garages. The bosses could've had a lot of work to them aswell, they're just way too easy and the concepts behind them are hit or miss. The one aspect that I really loved was the soundtrack, it being dynamic and the individual tracks being bangers added a lot of personality into the game.

Perfect timer in this game, Dead Rising 2 is too hard for me, this gave me everything I expected from a DR game.

Love the combo vehicles, great Xbox One launch title that deserves respect, awesome map. On my Mount Rushmore of those early X1 games.

Esta ok pero se nota que no esta Keiji Inafune y tiene mucha mierda de coleccionables de mundo abierto, jugabilidad peak pero entre que no tiene atmosfera de Dead rising y tiene unos bosses penosos se queda por debajo de los otros dos

This review contains spoilers

For some reason this is banned in Germany and I have no idea why. otherwise a decent zombie game but a really weak Dead Rising. feel more like Dynasty Warriors more than anything because of how borderline impossible to die it is. Nick controls way too well and the overall pace has not been adjusted to his speed. EVERYTHING dies way too quick and this makes stuff not really exciting or even fun near the end. Story is also really lame with the worst psychopaths in the series. PC port also isnt 60 native and requires a file fix. Still better than Dead Rising 4

EDIT 1/11/22

Don't play the DLC they're far and away MUCH WORSE than base DR3 and really heighten everything that's wrong with the game. Mainly the incredibly annoying map and roadblocks that artificially lengthen missions
