Better than the first one
A true showcase of a batshit crazy game. Did almost everything better than the predecessor from enemies to the added combat mechanics that allowed for more combat approaches, to the emotional moments, to the compaign itself which fleshed out more of the characters and expanded on the story itself. Just when i thought this game couldn’t surprise me more with its craziness during the last stretch of the game it just kept on delivering more and more.

This game is amazing, for me it's one of the greatest xbox 360 games, it elevates the saga for a new level that is perfectly ended in gears of war 3
Spent dozens of hours just playing survival with my neighbor. We also beat the campaign at some point too, probably.

I'd say the bulk of the game isn't as good as the first one, and the historical value the first one had isn't replicated either but this is when they wanted Gears to be a huge thing like CoD and Halo (and for a bit, it definitely was).
The story involves lots of sacrifices, although one death in particular felt like it wasted the character's potential (you'll know the one when you see it) but the rest fulfilled their purpose well. It's got a lot of cool moments but a lot of bad ones like the ice lake which blows up sections in front of you but you can't stop in time. Or some sections that have bits that feel too long between checkpoints.

El mejor de la saga mejorando todos los aspectos del anterior historia, gameplay, soundtrack etc. Con un multijugador increíble
You can still remember the iron maiden, it's ok. It's going to be alright.

Best of the trilogy. Replaying this series next year with some friends and I am so pumped.
I remembered Gears of War 2 very fondly and I am delighted to say that it still held up beautifully today after a much needed replay.
Taking the excellent formula established in the first game, the second entry cranks up the action, gore and emotion to whole new levels. With new weapons, enemy types and locations, it was a blast to fight off the locus horde once again with the iconic cast of characters quipping hilarious lines along the way.
Not only is Gears of War 2 funny and exciting, it also tugs on the heartstrings through some intense plot moments that make it a truly unforgettable experience.

Getting back with these characters and seeing the seeds of character development if really fun. Finding Maria in 2023 is just as hard hitting as in 2008.

Muito ambicioso, porém não tão marcante
Rejogando a franquia vejo cada vez mais o quanto ela é boa e cada jogo gostosinho demais de jogar pq msm que linear, a jogabilidade é delícia, a história envolvente e tudo flui mt bem.
Se a gnt for comparar com o primeiro, é incrível o quanto o jogo amadureceu em 2 anos. Ficou robusto, mais ousado, ambicioso, mas como eu disse no título não foi tão marcante pra mim. A história é mt boa, desenvolve tudo que ficou ainda no mistério do primeiro e deixa engatilhado pro terceiro, mas pra mim só isso não sustentou o game não.
Rejogando eu tive a ctz de um pensamento que eu já tinha tido lá na primeira jogatina que é o seguinte: o game fica arrastado em alguns pontos. Embora a história seja muito boa, o decorrer de como é contada não levou em conta tanto os cenários (que alguns são bem chatinhos) quanto o estilo de missões (mts com veículos, voando, barcas e por aí vai. Sendo diferente do andar e atirar do primeiro). Olhando pra trás, isso era de certa forma famoso nos jogos da época de ter sequências de gameplay variando com veículos e tal, mas aqui, achei que não ficou legal e tornou arrastado pra mim, vide logo no começo do jogo vc já ter que ficar defendendo o veículo de enquanto ele anda vagarosamente em uma chuva de balas.
Não fui de online ou modo horda nessa jogatina, apesar de conhecer os modos e não tê-los jogado muito, mas são divertidos. Acontece que com a atualidade é meio complicado achar mts partidas boas.
Ahhh, já ia esquecendo, mas que BELEZA a forma como está rodando no series s e consequentemente no x. Jogo fluido e MUITO bonito. Parece que foi remasterizado, pq as texturas estão incríveis, não me lembro dele ser tão bonito no 360. Chego a achar até mais bonito que jogos atuais.
No fim é isso, jogo bom, sequência sólida que dá motivação pro terceiro, mas como jogo solo é cansativo. Marcou pra mim mais pela história do que propriamente pelo prazer da gameplay.

El mejor de la franquicia, bajo mi punto de vista. Supo mejorar aún más la fórmula que ya planteó el anterior y darnos una historia sublime.
This is the best episode in the series, bar none. Almost every section is memorable, the gameplay is varied. The part where you learn about the lab the locusts were created in is such a vibe, with the storm outside.
Igual, lo jugué con un amigo y me gustó mucho lo de ahora ir a donde viven los enemigos, además, la química entre personajes me gustó jaja. Me gustó mucho el juego.

Logged as 360 but actually on my Series X - Great experience! A whole helluva lot of fun! Expanding on the locust lore and planting seeds that the Locust Queen knew Adam Pheonix, the death of Maria, and Dom being so distraught, goddamn so well done! That giant worm level was amazing!
No cambia mucho con respecto al primero, quizás el hecho de que tiene más intenciones de hacer una mejor historia pero a mí personalmente no me vólo la cabeza. Aún así tiene muy buena acción y el coop junto con el doblaje latino, hizo que me divirtiera mucho con este jueguito
Melhor gears até hoje
Este juego fue mi primer gears, la historia me gusta mucho y el gameplay es de lo mejor que hay en shooters de tercera persona.
I used to play horde mode in local co-op with my friends for hours and then get on xbox live and play hyper competitive matches with my "Clan" (group of fifteen year olds like me.) I think this was some of the most fun I had in multiplayer when I was younger, but it doesn't super hold up in modern age. The story is actually really good for such a testosterone pumped game, with characters genuinely coming off as vulnerable, often. Worth a play.
pra mim o melhor da franquia, como disse na minha analise do primeiro, é uma pena que só cheguei a me interessar por esse jogo em 2023, jogando com a minha esposa. O melhor da trilogia principal, muita ação frenetica, historia envolvente e uma finalização digna de filme.
really good sequence to the first one, a real improvement overall
an improvement thats for sure. combat is fun and the story is so chaotic it's hard no to enjoy. not a bad game, also pretty fun with friends.
