Great game. I loved the color mechanics and the puzzles escalated in difficulty at a nice pace.

Sights & Sounds
- The visuals are simplistic and highly stylized. You'll play most of the game with (mostly) black & white foregrounds with a background color that depends on which puzzle you're currently solving
- Not much to say about the music or overall sound design. It's serviceable but not really memorable

Story & Vibes
- The minimalism evident in the audiovisual design carries over into the story. Bits and pieces of narrative are doled out in the interludes that separate each puzzle section. It's a morose yet hopeful story involving the protagonist, his mother, and the game's antagonist, and their shared past
- Not a whole lot going on vibe-wise. I tend to really try to immerse myself in games, but Hue doesn't really offer anything emotionally, intellectually, or atmospherically substantial enough to latch onto

Playability & Replayability
- It's a puzzle platformer. One of the ones where you flip between environments (in this case, colors) to change the state of the current puzzle you're solving. If you've played something like Seasons After Fall, the gameplay will feel immediately familiar
- Some of the puzzles can take a minute or two to figure out, but there's nothing especially devious or unintuitive to trip you up
- Similarly, the platforming isn't going to pose many challenges
- Not much of a reason to replay the game unless you feel like getting the achievement for collectibles

Overall Impressions & Performance
- I played two very similar puzzle platformers before playing Hue (Seasons After Fall and Moonleap), but I'd say that Hue is the best of the three. Still, though, unintentionally playing 3 games in a row with essentially the same gameplay hook was a little disappointing. There's definitely some room for creativity in the puzzle platforming space
- The entire game ran flawlessly on the Steam Deck, and it's a pretty good game for playing on handheld

Final Verdict
- 6.5/10. If you don't already own a free copy from another storefront (it's been give away twice elsewhere), I'd say Hue is worth a look if it's pretty heavily discounted. Otherwise, it's a little pricey for what you get

Não terminei por dificuldade no ultimo puzzle, mas o jogo é bem criativo e muito divertido com puzzle de certa forma complicados, é legal

A very nice simple platformer that has a nice puzzle gimmick that doesn't overstay it's welcome. Just enough to be entertaining, and short enough to not be boring. The story is unnecessary, but just games seem to feel the need to tack a reason for doing anything, but seemed quite inconsequential to this game.

A charming short puzzle game that reminded me a lot of Thomas was Alone. The bright colors can be harsh on the eyes after a while though.

Hue was a pretty unique and fun puzzle game I enjoyed back in my Xbox days. I remember having a good time. 7/10

Pretty decent puzzle game and concept, though I felt like it overstayed it's welcome a bit. The puzzles are largely fine, but by the end they started to seem more like a way to pad the play time than to actually present a new challenge. I wish they had either been more varied, or the game was cut down by like... ~15%?

The art style, soundtrack and voice acting are pretty good, but the story is nothing to really write home about. Same goes for the few platforming parts of the game.

I got this game for free as part of some promo, though so I can't complain too much. Overall it's just fine.

Fun little puzzle game. It's short, but It's worth the few hours it takes to complete.

This was a fun puzzle game. I enjoyed it, but it went on slightly too long.

Hue's puzzles are genuinely fun and interesting, but whenever the game tries to be a platformer it fails. The art and music are good. The story is fine although it didn't grab me personally. Most of the narration happens during filler screens with no obstacles which just feels like a timewaster.

A nice little puzzler, I think it just falls into the indie trap of making something philosophical which doesn't suit it. A simple story can work fine, but here you get not only 'does everybody see color differently?', but also 'does something exist if you cannot perceive it?' and the Sapir-Whorf hypothesis (oh no!). It's just too much too quickly. But hey, you still get a lot of puzzles.

it's a fine puzzle game. lots of the early puzzles are just "oh what if i changed the color so that i can walk through this wall" etc. and are very easy, but the last several are well made and make you think without being overly difficult.

an alarmingly high amount of puzzles in this game have timing based solutions, which is fine for some things, but it just didn't really feel right for me in this game. "oh no the color i have selected makes the platform i'm going to land on disappear! i better change the color!" happens constantly during the midpoint of the game and feels like pointless fluff because all the good puzzles were delegated to the end of the game.

the "story" elements were pretty pointless to me though, and it doesn't really seem like it had a real place in a game like this. the voice acting they had was actually pretty good, and i think the VAs did a very good job with the task they were given, i just didn't care. additionally, the mail dialogue is essentially read to you in a boring pointless hallway that you jump up staircases and climb ladders in the most boring way possible with no interesting platforming whatsoever. i'm pretty sure these sections are just there to fill the whole length of the reading "cutscene" because they always finish right about the time to get to the end of the hallway, but if you want me to care about your story, it should be interesting and not just because it's literally the only thing happening during the game at that point.

fine game, nothing special. not interested in going for 100% because it seems tedious going back through the game without a level select (afaik) just to find hidden collectibles.

really liked this one, but is repetitive if you wanna 100% the achievements

A cute puzzle game with a nice little story. Very straight forward without a whole lot too it. The story could have used a few more more revisions, but I think the real focus of the game is on the color puzzles, which were fun!

Hue has some clever puzzles and uses its in-negative art style to good effect, but that's it. The worst part of playing Hue is how slow it is to replay game sections for collectibles, but worst part of experiencing Hue is that it's very bland. I wouldn't say Hue is "bad", but there is no new experience or enjoyment to glean out of this title, unless you're really new to puzzle platformers.

Местами сложная, но интересная игра

While the color gimmick was really fun if you put a gun to my head and asked me to tell you what happened in this game I'd be dead

Great puzzle platformer that uses its main mechanic very well. Almost abandoned the game though as I got stuck on the last puzzle for months and every time I tried I failed. Eventually just looked up a walk through for the last puzzle which made me really upset because I tried for so long and did every other puzzle without help.

slow to 100%, not a bad game, but not great either

Got it on PsPlus.
Discovered I'm not really into puzzle games thanks to it.
Cute game with an interesting mechanic anyways

Great Indie title. I love the concept and storytelling.
