This is a far cry of what Serious Sam stood for in the early days of the franchise. This is no longer a game where you need to carefully position yourself in between the enemies and choose the right weapon for the situation. Instead you just shoot at hordes of enemies coming mostly out of the same direction with the strongest weapon you have in your arsenal. In the second half of the game (which you reach after just 2 hours...) you gain weapons that simply outclass every weapon you have collected before. Many weapons are simply obsolete towards the end of the game. Story wise this is a pile of garbage. No one ever played a Serious Sam game for the story or its characters, but these developers thought it would be a great addition to introduce audio logs and written pages to the franchise... like who wanted that ? The characters Sam encounters during this 4-5 hour adventure are not memorable at all, even though the games cut-scenes want to tell you the opposite. I really hope Croteam takes back control of this franchise and gets back to the roots with it, but they really need to improve or change their engine as it is a hot mess in its current state. I can not really recommend the game to anyone except those that want to make fun of it in coop.

Под Хованского пойдет

I couldn't get into it. I just wanted to play Doom while playing it, which is not good. You don't want to think about playing another game while you play x game—even if it's inspired by it.

There is no punishment too vile, too deranged; too horrific or inhumane, for developers who ask you if you want to lower the difficulty.

Co-op not working on xbox game pass. Can't even create a lobby. I would give 0 if that exists.

Siberian Mayhem is lipstick on a pig that is Serious Sam 4. This series desperately needs a reboot. Now that the Siberian Mayhem team is working at Croteam, let's hope they release a proper sequel. Preferably one that ditches the weird direction the series took with the third installment.

Better than SS4, but that's not saying much. It's a good effort by the modders and hopefully one day they will make a full-fledged sequel to Serious Sam. At the moment, Serious Sam games just lack any kind of charm that was clearly present in the older titles.

It's just the whole direction the series took with SS3 that holds this game back in my opinion. Funny how a game about killing hordes of enemies can be so boring.

If you can play through it in co-op, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

Guns, bombs, explosions, various monsters to defeat, it's a Serious Sam game alright. Haven't played one in years but after playing this I really want to play the rest of the new releases like Serious Sam 3 & 4.

Before doing so though I will need to see if I can find out which order to play them in.

One thing I did notice when playing this is that these games may be best played with a mouse and keyboard.

Maravilhosamente idiota. Adorei. Muito tiro

One star for every frame per second.

better than the 4th one

somehow sam has had better days than duke nukem

A surprising little FPS romp that is just pure fun. Ignore a well written plot, ignore deep mechanics and overly complicated game play, this is just a mindless "shut your brain off" FPS at it's finest.

Seeing the evolution of the Serious Sam games up until this point has been astounding. Siberian Mayhem has enthralling game play, an incredible set of weapons that all have purpose, diverse enemy types, and massive battlefields with just hordes and hordes of enemies coming at you all at once.

I think Croteam and Timelock are taking full advantage of going bonkers with Serious Sam's adventures, and I think this direction is perfectly suited for the series. Playing this felt like "Doom 2016 but ridiculous" and I'm not complaining one bit!

That feels like a love-letter to the first Sam. And I'm all in on it.

For a very long time I haven't feel such joy playing my boy running backwards holding left mouse button. This new guys from russia did extremely good with their first project. If atomic heart will be half as good as this - the game will be no brain buy for me.

Level design and enemy placing are great. Overall pacing is not taxing on any department and there even are some gorgeous visuals. I would without even thinking give this game all stars there is if only they would finally rid of rifle reloading and spread. I also miss my favourite four barreled gun shooting green lasers.

I also want to mention that environmental sound design is one of the best out there. Random steam hissing when you walk near pipes or bubbling boilers or some shit like this is making me a bit wet below the torso.

Thanks, random russian dudes, for making me not feel embarrassed playing this game again.

Serious Sam 4 was the best, this is even better

This is my first Serious Sam game (or expansion), I would describe it like if you took a game developer from the 90s who just played DOOM for the first time and let them create a game without technical restrictions. Instead of small levels with 20 enemies at a time you have massive open levels with 200 enemies coming at you. The shooting gameplay is very old-school and the story and characters similarly so, it's a total cheese-fest but I like it.

It's pretty fun for the most part, I only found certain sections near the end to be a bit annoying but overall if you like boomer shooters and have a strong PC then this is a great choice. Admittedly the performance wasn't perfect even on my 7800X3D which was a shame but it held up much better than my 5600X with which Serious Sam 4 was essentially unplayable.

it was fine. nothing too interesting here. play any of the other games, they're all better.

10x better than it's counterpart, SS4, actually, I think it's one of the best serious sam games since the legacy ones..

Its jank, but Its also created by modders. Easily the best Sam game since TSE.

Feels a full 20 years older than it is. Not in a fun, throwback way, in a clunky, outdated way. It also looks awful, runs terribly, and has the personality of a middle schooler trying to be edgy

Sam seriously needs to get a winter jacket

The best Serious Sam I've ever played. This one is a masterpiece for sure but it kinda felt short. They actually fixed the issues the previous game had. Missions were extraordinary.

Croteam can't stop with the prequels, also a fine expansion for ss4.

One of the better Serious Sam games. It feels closer to the original ones than the more recent entries.

It is just mindless fun and I had multiple times big grin on my face when it introduced some crazy gameplay concept and I was all for it.

Exactly like SS4 in pretty much every way (I mean it is an expansion so duh); your opinion will be consistent between the two. Still don't like how everything since SS3 has the itty-bitty graphics since Croteam had to retrofit a military shooter and never fixed it, but it lets them get in even more "fucking with the player" moments than ever before. Some of these moments are pretty funny, though others (like a Klear sequence I'm stuck on that I don't want to have to roll back saves to redo) are just frustrating. It's still fun and mostly mindless so I'm sure I'll come back to it.

I found a kamekaze sitting in a room contemplating life while listening to emo music; other than that this game is great but a little pricey for being 1/3 of the main game.

I'll probably go 'oh okay, I played this' in December when I'll be looking at my list of completed games. Take it as you will.
