taiko :-) can't tell if this is the one i played on 3ds, but i think it is! it's pretty fun, but the songs are very mid...

Taiko is always a good time, and this one is no different. The default songlist is decent enough, the DLC tracks are also pretty good. This one has a pretty big story mode with like team building and monster collecting. The DLC chapters (which are exclusive to the 3DS version) are very cool and all call back to previous taiko games, which was really fun for me as a longtime series fan. Having a team composed of alumi, princess soprano, arashi, and ponko felt completely wild. The DLC chapters were also full of really difficult songs and boss fights (awesome), but also gives really overpowered characters that made me grossly overlevelled and made the rest of the main game a cakewalk (not awesome). All in all, its taiko. Would suggest playing the 3DS version over the switch rerelease due to the extra content in that version they didn't bother porting over, but if you can't read japanese or don't have a 3DS then the switch version is also decent i guess.

I like the idea of a rhythm RPG, but the balance is kind off on hard. A random enemy encounter can fuck you up while the boss for the area can be super easy just because of the song choice.

Oynadığım tek taiko oyunu bu. 3DS kalemiyle oynamak zevkli.

Cute and fun, but pretty shallow. I think these 3DS remasters would have worked better as DLC add-ons to the existing Switch game so that that the tracks and outfits could carry over and feel like more of a bonus. Packaged on their own as a standalone “game”, they’re unfortunately relatively weak.

The random encounters get boring after a while with the same repeating songs

Pretty good game! It's cute and plays well, the story and characters are not deep or anything but does it need to be in a taiko game? The battles in this game are unique and fun and make me wish for more rhythm rpgs

The rhythm game is fun but the story is so bad. At least its super short.

played in japanese on 3ds, just didn't enjoy it. taiko no tatsujin just isn't for me. probably gets a lot of charm from the rpg mode, but i didn't mess with it cause i can't read it. will probably give the switch version a chance someday though

Song selection is mid, story is drawn out and mind numbing, every interaction is 10 minutes long for no reason, the only reason it gets more than 2 stars is because it includes boss battles which are super fun to play through.

While the RPG aspect of this is fun, the tracklist is extremely weak compared to Rhythmic Adventure 2.

how do you take a good game and make it shitty

I would play the shit out of any classic JRPG remade exactly like this.

Hire a better writing team, expand combat mechanics slightly, offer more open environments, and you're a couple iterations away from making my ideal video game.

More rhythm RPGs!!!

Story mode is very cute, but tracklist is kinda bleh.

taiko rpgs are fun but being able to read the story makes me wanna commit a crime

This was alright. Playing a rhythm game where I'm not familiar with most of the songs was weird, though.
