Jank but enjoyable
Obviously nowhere near as good as crazy taxi, but I'm a big simpsons and crazy taxi fan so I had a fun time

From an early game it was good. there was somethings to improve on but was a solid game. One of my childhood Favorites

While this is not the worst licence game, the task of reaching $1,000,000 is tedious, repetitive and boring.

The places where you can go to deliver passengers are Evergreen Terrance, Entertainment District, Springfield Dam, Nuclear Power plant, Downtown and Springfield Mountains. Though Evergreen Terrance is the only area available at the start, reaching a reward amount will either allow you to go to new places or unlock new characters.

The characters available at the start are the Simpsons family but as you reach the amount you will be able to unlock new characters like Moe to Snake with their voice actors returning to their characters.

Mr. Burns has bought the buses and has upgraded them to be nuclear powered. During the game the buses and Burns will try and bump into you which can be very annoying when you try to deliver passengers.

While this is a passable game, The Simpsons Game and Hit & Run are superior in every way, so play those instead.

I rented this game back in the day when it came out and had fun with it for a few hours before I felt the game got repetitive. This was not a bad effort considering it was an early-gen title with limitations but I thought the use of the Simpsons license was well done and driving around Springfield was fun and interesting despite early hardware limitations.

One things I appreciated over the obvious Crazy Taxi comparison is that this game allowed for more breathing room and thus it was easier to explore the surroundings.

replayed this for the RA set. this is still a pretty exceptionally shitty game. i feel bad saying that it has basically no redeeming qualities as a game, because games development is a harder process than i will ever be exposed to in my life most likely. on the other hand, none of the jokes land because they're all nonsequiturs/catchphrase one-liners/etc. and the gameplay has basically no depth. oh well. joke's on me because this is the second time in my life i've gotten the 1 million in this game. clearly something is wrong with me. Something is wrong with me.

Something is wrong with me.

Crazy Taxi, pero con los Simpson, ta bien

crazy taxi Simpsons addition eh yeah

I go out of my way to run over civilians

A very good Crazy Taxi clone with a lot of charm. An absolute must play if you're a fan of the Simpsons.

so many fond memories of playing this as kids

"if you perma-honk the horn, your car goes faster!"

Def very cool to a Simpsons loving kid

This game wasn't great. In comparison to Hit & Run, it was pretty disappointing. I know that came a couple years later but I got these around the same time. Being stuck in a car in a game that isn't even a racing game isn't exactly the epitome of entertainment.

Yes, I know Crazy Taxi is a thing. I've never played those games and I'm not sure I'd enjoy them.

The Simpsons: Road Rage is a hilariously chaotic take on the taxi-driving genre with a Simpsons twist. Players navigate iconic Springfield locations, picking up beloved characters and driving them to their destinations. While its core gameplay is a bit repetitive, the zany Simpsons humor, unlockable characters, and secrets keep things entertaining. If you're a Simpsons fan looking for a lighthearted arcade-style racer, Road Rage delivers a satisfying dose of laughs and reckless driving.

I hated playing this even as a kid with no standards.

If you don't deliver anyone to their destination mr burns calls you a grandma, which is fun

Mom, can we play Crazy Taxi?

We have Crazy Taxi at home!

Crazy Taxi at home:

The game offers little in terms of depth. It has a vaguely addicting gameplay loop which is fun, but I don't know. Theres something about the voice lines that really start to get grating after a while. The controls are Crazy Taxi but worse - the whole 'through' and 'jump' mechanic is entirely gutted for this game and it shows, since the whole excitement of ramping up high combos and getting faster and faster and getting higher combos getting respectively harder was what made Crazy Taxi so timeless to begin with.

Not to mention, what are these Sonic 06 ass loading screens?

If you have access to Crazy Taxi I wouldn't bother touching it. Maybe for big simpsons fans, but even then its a mild one at best because the dialogue isnt real conversations so you get zero good moments unless the one liner happens to be funny.

Its a perfectly serviceable game which is fun to play and it was just as fun as I remember it being as a kid, surprisingly. The issue is just the lack of depth and the wonky controls.

An entertaining multiplayer with a mediocre single player

The maps feel very blocky with barebones designs for all the routes you can travel. This makes chases with multiplayer feel like a slog with someone just being out of reach, relying on their mess-ups as the only way to catch up. Still entertaining, but only fun for a round or 2 and then you just want to play another game. The solo missions are unique gimmicks on the gameplay, but ultimately are played just once and never again.

crazy taxi but bad. play hit n run

Not bad for an early sixth gen release, but it gets pretty old real quick. At the very least the mechanics aren't broken, so that's a plus I guess.

It's okay to play it for about 30 minutes, but completing the "story" is a disaster. Getting all the money is messed up, and the ending is... well.. horrible, not worth your mental health.

Overshadowed by hit and run a lot but still really good. Deserves a remaster as much as hit and run does

Local multiplayer is fun to mess around with for a bit, but that's where the game peaks.

i have fond memories of this as a kid ..

Nearly all Simpsons games struggle to get the graphics right and the map right. I would say that on both of those fronts, this one is somewhere between Simpsons: Hit and Run, and The Simpsons Game.

The mission mode sucks ass though. They can not have play-tested that bullshit. And holy shit those load times...
