Singlehandedly the worst set of writing I've read so far this year.
I couldn't get past the first two cases, the writing was so utterly awful and the case logic and characters so hamstrung boring, with it wasting your time more than any other VN I can think of at the current moment. Not to mention the self fellating it does every hour for either fanservice or weak attempts at characterization.
Put it in the fucking bin and read the summary if you want to play AAI2.

This is a very good game. However, it faces a huge roadblock in having two not so great cases. And the final case being such a chore to get through. However, if you are a huge fan of Columbo and Ace Attorney than this will be a treat for you. Miles also carries the plot so hard, we need to give him more credit
easily the worst game in the series. its story is silly, even for a PW game where you assume it will be silly. the villains are painfully generic and often times cases pad out their run time with filler that just heightens how boring catching the culprit is. Shame we didn't get Investigations 2 over here, apparently that one is really good.
Another great Ace Attorney game, with great cases, music, characters, etc. While I did enjoy most of the cases, some of them seemed to unnecessarily drag on longer than they really needed to (the last one especially). It's also not as good as Investigations 2, but that's just because Investigations 2 is really that good. My review to Investigations 2: https://www.backloggd.com/u/MrSolo/review/89785/
In this game, the action takes place outside the courtroom. Gameplay is still very similar, but you can move around freely this time and there's a new "logic" system which is a welcome addition. The story is good, and the first few cases build up and connect to the last one nicely. Definitely worth playing after the Phoenix Wright trilogy.
An interesting experiment that has bright spots and good ideas, but is utterly mauled by pacing issues.
I've been needlessly mean to AAI in the past, but the fact remains that much of the game feels like a slog in ways that nothing else in the franchise does. Almost all of these games are made or broken by their final cases, and never would I have expected how desperate I was for AAI's finale to end. It just keeps going, trying harder and harder to lose my interest, something which I don't think it ever had in the first place.
There are two cases in AAI that I would call "good" and neither of them are powerful enough to carry the rest.
Thank god it's all worth it for AAI2.

A very shallow attempt to breathe fresh air into the series that comes off as gimmicky more than compelling. All its new additions and changes in perspective are merely window-dressing to the fact that its copying all the tropes and cliches of previous games without adding any compelling mystery or characters to make it interesting.
Pretty neat spinoff to the Ace Attorney series. It leans more on the side of point and click adventure game compared to the main games which are more VN-like. The cases are ok, the last one goes on for a little too long but it was still a cool mystery. I actually kind of like how every case follows a central narrative, instead of the somewhat disconnected court cases of the main series. Though I don't think either style is any better or worse, it's just cool to see something a little different. Not much to say about this game other than Shi-Long Lang is a CHAD.
