the gameplay loop is REALLY cool, it's just too short. the game is meant to be speedran, which is really cool. the problem is that neon white is this game but way better

this game has an INCREDIBLE gameplay loop. zipping across arenas, comboing abilities, lining up shots, its really fun. shame that it's shorter than i expected (beat it in one sitting) but its still very fun. if they could expand upon the abilities and arena, i think the devs could make another boomerang game that could be longer. as it is right now though: it's beyond smooth and did i mention that it was fun?

Fun and fast and great, especially if you loved movement tech in old FPS games.

fffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffffff

fufufufufufuuffu

has everything you would expect froma a good game: fun gameplay, shattered glass sound when you take damage, cool graphics, originality and bug people

This shit's just fun throughout

Beat this game in less than 4 hours. It's a good short and sweet fps game :)

This game has potential and can be really fun especially if you like doom and want a new twist on it but I wouldn't recommend getting it at full price since it's only 1-2 hours long.

This game is super fun. Unfortunately, the motion controls drifted a lot and the Flick Stick was bugged. Game is still sick though, like damn. Its a ton of fun and a great idea.

Very creative combat system, responsive , fast and thoughtful

Fun and exciting movement game where boomerang go swish swish. I challenged my self if I can finish the game fast enough to request a refund and yes. I did manage to do so. considering there is a endless wave mode and its only 10$ i would recommend giving it a shot and if ur like me and like to save money u can just speed run it. if so i recommend playing the demo first cause u start the main game where u ended on the demo (it is kinda cheating tho) fun game that u can finish in one day I recommend if u yearn for titanfall 3 Not copium :(

I wish it was longer but the endless mode is alright. Worth a play IMO I had a blast playing it

Fast, stylish, and short.

Boomerang X is a game with an incredibly fun movement system, satisfying character moveset, and infinite mobility. You can jump as high as you want, fly for any duration of time, and teleport around the map like in no other game.

You fly around, kill the enemies in the area, and move on. Awesome, simple fun. That said, the game suffers from being repetitive, and not really challenging. There is nothing in the game that can keep up with your high speed movement, meaning every enemy in the game is a sitting duck. You run laps around them before they even get the chance to attack, and when they do, they attack the position you were in 2 seconds ago. As long as you move, nothing can harm you, and it makes any obstacle the game throws at you very easy, and not really fun.

When the novelty of the movement wears off, the game doesn't have too much to offer, and despite the game being less than 2 hours long, it overstays its welcome.

how to fly as the boomerang man?

Awesome little movement/arena shooter, it's exactly what you'd expect and hope it is. Stylish art with unique looks for each arena, tight mechanics that adds complexity in a way that's slight enough to manage with the quick pace, enemy variety without getting too annoying or straying from the main gameplay. My only real complaint here is that it's really short. Cleared it in 90 minutes, and it wasn't really challenging until near the end. There are NG+ and endless modes, but despite really enjoying this those just don't seem like the type of thing I'd get into for this game, might give them a shot in the future though if I get the itch for this again.

Half my indie game reviews are just"This is a great, short game. It knows what it is and it knows what it isn't. 4.5/5 stars."
But that's so true for Boomerang X!! I wouldn't recommend this game to anybody, but if you've ever played an action FPS -- literally anything from Call of Duty to ULTRAKILL -- I can't encourage you enough to try this game out.

This game is really, really short. Like, ~90-minutes-for-a-100%-playthrough short. Even with that short of a runtime, though, it feels like the game fully explores the design space it presents.

Great soundtrack, too. Adds a lot of character and atmosphere, and helps support the vibe (along with the sparse storytelling).
Extremely interested in whatever these developers create next.

I normally hate FPS, but I had a great time here. It starts out very easy and gradually becomes more difficult towards the end. I tried a bit of the NG+, but it was still the same environments with just harder waves, so I dipped out after a few arenas. Endless mode is also cool, though it doesn't seem to be for me. I would definitely play this up again, but I can't see myself going for the other modes without being on edge all day.

this is rly fun, rly swag style, evolves slowly and makes u feel sick as hell

i beat this game in 4 hours its okay

This game in one sentence: "All killer, no filler." Something to be admired honestly, a game that respects your time more then anything. It doesn't demand you keep playing samey content, at the expense of its length. Perfect arcade-esque game that requires skilled play but isn't as brutal as old-school arcade cabinets. If you want more, there's an endless mode for one. As this game entirely revolves around fighting waves of enemies its a no-brainer addition, but nonetheless appreciated. The other is new game plus, which allows more usage of the late-game abilities that may initially feel under-used, since otherwise there's little opportunity to get a feel for them.
It's tempting to say that this game "lacks meat", but the mechanics are solid enough to keep the mind moving. Learning how to effectively maneuver around the arena by warping to your thrown boomerang, then slowing down time as you line up your next throw is already solid. But then you also have a special attack accessible by comboing enemies in one throw, then you have another attack achieved by killing many enemies at a time with the first special attack; in addition to a few more abilities that I won't spoil but they add more consideration with every boomerang toss. The boomerang warp is fun, but it can be a little messy in the sense that you can sometimes lose sight of the boomerang in the more crowded fights. When this happens it can be a gamble whether warping to the boomerang puts you in harms way, but not warping will land you on top a hazardous floor. I think a highlight for your boomerang would've been appreciated, but you can of course play more carefully and try to not wind up in those situations.

Other mechanics should be experienced first-hand by playing the game yourself. This may end up as a "one-and-done" for some, but the superb movement, solid combat design, and tight pacing can be dangerously addictive for others.
It's like small, buttery cupcake. It's gone before you know it, but damn if it isn't sweet in the moment. And you can always get another one... crap now I'm hungry

finished it in a day and it was super fun

Solid movement combat game with an easy-to-learn combat system. I fully plan on going back to get all the achievements.

so close to perfect, just needs to be longer so it can flesh its mechanics out. game is about the length of a fingernail

why did it have to be this short

The movement in this game is phenomenal

A fun, short, challenging game

Corto y perfecto, como mi p
