I'd gladly wait 4 more years for another DLC, but I understand if this is it. Even though It's a little short, I found myself enjoying these bosses even more than a good chunk of the ones from the main game. Loved it.

Cuphead is one of those games that feels good to play and look at. The Delicious Last Course continues this, with engaging boss battles and amazing visuals. While the DLC doesn't exactly feel like 4-5 years of work went into it from a gameplay hours perspective, but the sheer amount of animation here is just as impressive as the base game.

All of the new bosses are solid and fit right in with the base game's cast of baddies. In addition to more traditional bosses, this DLC also adds some special bosses that you have to fight by only parrying. These were pretty fun for the most part and helped break up some of the boss-rush gameplay that Cuphead is known for. The new power-ups and upgrades are also very well implemented and feel balanced overall. The addition of Ms. Chalice as a playable character is also very neat. I wish you didn't have to use your charm slot to play as her, but I loved how she played differently from Cuphead and Mugman. This DLC basically boils down to "more Cuphead," and that's not a complaint.

But with it being more of the same, it also means that The Delicious Last Course shares all of the pitfalls that the base game has. For starters, there are no new levels to play through at all. While I love the bosses that were added here, I have always felt that Cuphead needed more sidescrolling levels to break up the boss rush. Another thing with the boss battles is that they can sometimes feel a bit cheap with their hitboxes. There aren't really any huge improvements to the game other than some really cool new abilities. Other than that though, its a DLC that'll last around 2 hours or so (maybe more or less depending on your skill level). I can't help but feel that the DLC was a bit overhyped tho due to how long it was in development. Clearly that time mostly went into the incredible animation and boss mechanics, but I felt like it was missing something to really make all that time feel worth it in the end.

The Delicious Last Course is more Cuphead goodness. If you're a fan of the game, you probably already got it and don't need to read this review. If you're on the fence, the DLC is only $8, so I'd say its worth picking up. While I would've liked to have seen more added with this DLC, I had a lot of fun overall.

Brief, but worth the price and to the same quality of the base game

It's just as high quality as the base game, but I just wish it was longer :(

Very fun, albeit short DLC! It's such a cheap DLC, but they really offer you some bang for your buck. The visuals and animation of each encounter are just so much above what the base game offered. Amazing job to the dev team. Not a lot of bosses but some might make your time worth it.

Glumstone: Lives on in my RNG nightmares.

Moonshine Mob: Banger. That big band background music with the vocals, oh my god... That middle phase can suck it, though. God damn.

Esther Winchester: First phase lives on in my RNG nightmares, as well.

The Howling Aces: Cool way to implement this type of fight, but... Leave me alone.

Mortimer Freeze: Really fun "Not Ice King" fight! Middle part can be a hassle if you're unlucky and mess up.

Lots of neat mechanics in these DLC fights. The final phase of Glumstone comes to mind.

None of the bosses feel really difficult to learn as much as it all boils down to how you can navigate the RNG. Lots of tiny elements that can screw you over (think Sally Stageplay and the baby bottles/parasols)

As for The King's Leap... Loved this take on the previous minigames in the base game. Played all of these as Cuphead. Pawns were quick and fun, Knight screwed me over a few (read: a lot of) times. Bishop was loads of fun. Rook can suck it. Queen takes time/patience but isn't that hard.

Afterwards I attempted the Gauntlet with Ms. Chalice, and it just feels like it was built around her. It just flows so much better as her.

Final Boss isn't that difficult. But, again, it depends on which elements are overlapping. I'm sick of strawberries. Note: I once spawned in from the first phase into the second and I got hit before I even landed. Some collision shenanigans that made me throw my controller when I eventually died afterwards.

Secret Boss was really fun to figure out how to reach. Took me 2 tries to figure out what the mechanic was, and then I got it on the third try. Very short and actually pretty easy fight, especially with the crackshot.

Definitely doing an expert run of this later.

Studio MDHR just casually animating the best looking boss ever made.

I'm glad they didn't add any 'run and gun' segments to the forth island. Was fun the first time through those levels, after that it was kind of a slog. I'm not sure the secret boss was executed optimally. The gimmick is awkward and feels half cooked. Like it doesn't really fit in something like Cuphead. Also only a single phase? I guess it would have been a bit unmanageable on top of the already wack mechanic. Besides that boss, a truly magnificent swan song for Cuphead.

If Chad and Jared decide to take an indefinitely long vacation after this, they are completely justified in doing so.

Thanks for ruin the game.
REMOVE that bullsht 9 lifes cheat.

Yup. That was a DLC expansion for Cuphead.
So it's great.

30/35 hours of worth gameplay with beautiful animations

Terminei em 1h e meia mais ou menos, os bosses são mais fáceis, ou a Chalice é op?
Ainda sim foi muito bom

Even though it's shorter than the base game, i still enjoy fighting the bosses. More Cuphead is a welcome for me

You already know it's good; it's more Cuphead; the DLC is like 8 dollars so you're not gonna break the bank. Look just go buy the DLC; I'll wait......................................................................................................................................................
Did you get it yet?
You did!
great have fun.

very good dlc final boss much better that the devil

An excellent expansion. I found myself wishing it was longer, but that's a compliment at the end of the day. The final boss wasn't as challenging as I had hoped, but the art and animation is so aces that I can't really complain.

cuphead? mugman? are you insane, brian? these are just pieces of porcelain!

secret boss made my brain hurt

Leaves a little to be desired but ultimately a very well done dlc and for a really great price too

4 years... Ive waited 4 long years for this very moment..

I really enjoy Cuphead, so of course I was very excited for the dlc to release. Needless to say, I think it lived up to the hype. I do think this dlc is a bit on the short side, but I can forgive it since it's only 1 isle. It's not really meant to be that big, although I would be happy with 1 or 2 more bosses. The bosses here are some of the best in the game, although I do think they get a bit too hectic at times, but figuring out the method to the madness is oh so
satisfying. Its also supposed to be the "last course" so I guess I can excuse its difficulty

The new additions here are just plain great, the charms and weapons are very helpful with turning the tides in fights. Except for the cursed relic, because simply put, fuck that shit. Ms. Chalice is also a great addition, she brings enough to the table but doesn't feel too out of place or easy, even with the additional abilities and health. The castle is also a really cool way of replacing the run and gun stages of the base game (the worst part of it in my books). Fighting a short boss to earn coins is really cool and fits into the game so well its a wonder why they didn't do it in the first place.

The game looks better than ever, you can really feel every second of those 4 years in the presentation. The colors pop and remind me of candy for some reason, maybe I'm just hungry. Animations lead way to telegraph attacks better than they ever did in the base game. The wackiness and expression in the animation is better than it ever was and taken up to eleven. The music also adds to the overall presentation of the game, it's just as jazzy as it ever was.

It's definitely a delicious last course, as the gameplay, bosses, and animation make that great soup that composed the original cuphead. While the new stuff adds a whole new flavor.

However.. they replaced the old cuphead theme for a worse one, so I'm actually giving this game a 0/10. Fuck you MDHR.

Uma ótima dlc, bons e criativos chefes. A dinâmica da personagem nova é ótima. Vale a pena.

It's... more Cuphead! More wacky, imaginative multi-phase bosses. More insanely lavish rubber hose animation. More jazzy big band bops. More options to add to your munitions cup-board. Above all, it's more nonstop chaotic gameplay with 5 decisions per second and 10 things to pay attention to at once as you scramble to not get squash-and-stretched into scrambled spaghetti squash!

If you like Cuphead, you'll probably like this DLC, and vice-versa. In my book, it's a short but deliciously sweet addition.

what an fantastic way to end up Cuphead, MDHR has nailed the animations and boss-designs plus Ms.Chalice is a great addition to the playable characters.

it's short yeah an skilled player can finish in 1 hour or so but nonetheless an great piece of content and some players will
surely take a while in some of the bosses.

the price target is great and is an must-play for anyone who has enjoyed Cuphead or difficult platform games in general.

Exactly how a DLC should be. Sweet, short and a lot of fun.

It's more Cuphead with an extra character to play as who has her own moveset. Game still looks incredible, has that boppin jazz music soundtrack, and has difficult gameplay that's as tight as ever. All that for $8! It's a steal if you already bought and loved Cuphead. Couldn't ask for much more than this.
