Halo 5 is an interesting game from 343 Industries. While I dont hate it like a lot of the Halo community. I do think the story is kinda weird it tries to do this whole thing where the Master Chief "might be" the bad guy. Which any fan or anyone who enjoys halo will instantly doubt and not like. I think it could of been better overall. As for the Gameplay I would say its pretty solid Halo Action if you dont mind the average story. Its solid and fun enough to carry the game in my opinion.
overall I give it a 4.5 out of 5 you could do a lot worse for a weekend of fun!

An improvement from Halo 4, if only because it take real swings, instead of just trying to be a Halo game and failing. It's still shocking how every narrative beat misunderstands the appeal of Halo, how desperately the game wants to feel emotive and expansive, while being constantly hampered by the constants of a "expanded universe" as well as the struggle of having to construct a new galactic threat. In moments it really plays with scale, making you one solider in the midst of a larger conflict. But most of the time, it's mythologically self obsessed.
Maybe it's because 4 was so appalling I would've enjoyed anything that came after it, but I really didn't think this was that bad. The story was kind of absurdly abstruse given what the series is, but I thought the mechanics introduced were solid, and every facet of 4 that carried over is markedly improved.
The Locke-Chief conflict is completely fumbled, and both squad’s characters have very little personality. Characters such as Halsey feel completely inconsistent with their original characterization, and the villain of this game has a jarring shift in personality that is much less interesting than it could have been. However, the gameplay is seriously improved upon compared to Halo 4. It feels fun and fluid, always responsive. The Prometheans are actually fun to fight now that they take less damage and have weaknesses. The art style is digital like 4, but makes it much more vibrant. The story is alright when it changes halfway through the game, IMO, and the return of old characters always hyped me up. This game isn’t the disaster many make it out to be, but it also could have been so much more.
