You would never think a Pokemon game where you just take pictures could be so much fun.

One of the most interesting games of this era, it almost seems like an arcade rail shooter for the home. Finding all of the Pokemon in this game to take pictures is still pretty fun, and it's funny to think you used to be able to take your cartridge to Blockbuster to print out your favorite PokePics.

It's a relaxing game, and there's a good reason people remember this game so fondly. It still looks okay, and while framerate issues are everywhere here, it's still neat to go back to once in a while.

Again a game my parents stole the nostaliga from me as I wasn't allowed to have a TV console in my childhood.

Before playing the new Pokemon Snap game I wanted to feel the magic of the old one. I didn't expect nothing so I was surprised a lot when it was still able to transport the magic after all those years.

Pokemon Snap is a very relaxing game that is completed in a very short time. I really couldn't imagine that it would be fun finding the best pose of various pokemon but hell it is.

This game had no right to go this hard, but the big knock is that it was way too short. Doing everything in the game only takes a few hours.

An offbeat but thoroughly enjoyable introduction to photography masquerading as a Pokemon game. It certainly fooled me. However, it is a very short game, even by N64 standards. I was never a huge Pokemon person (at least when it comes to the actual games), so this is probably my favorite entry in the franchise. If you're interested in N64 games, this is definitely one of the better games for the system, but if you're just looking for that point-and-shoot experience, I would probably just check out the sequel.

hit the magikarp into the water fall to evolve it into Gyarados

A lot of the pokemon in this do cute stuff and it's hard to not be entranced by it. I used to let myself get halted by the egg in the volcano level and just take picture after picture of the Charmander. They were adorable to me, especially with how sometimes they would get mad at you; it was like a small cat trying to claw at you.

Un sencillo y simpático videojuego de fotos con algunos pequeños secretos. Si no eres fan de Pokémon dudo mucho que te pueda atrapar.

Pretty fun time, but why play this when the new one is out

A fun novelty and gimmick when it was released but outside of nostalgia there's not much to go back too and the game has zero replay value.

Despite once holding both any% and 100% WRs, I do not like this game quite as much as some people think I do. Having done literally over 4000 runs, I feel like I have enough hours in the game to solidly declare my opinion: it's alright.

I can still hear the beach theme to this day.

What a fun little adventure! Taking pictures of Pokemon seems dumb on paper but it's executed excellently here. Seeing the monsters interact with the world around them helps the Pokemon world feel like a real place. While it can be repetitive it's very short and thus doesn't overstay its welcome. Professor Oak has no idea what good photos are and has real shit taste. Suck my ass Oak.

love this game, and it still holds up today. always cute to find weird ways to find new pokemon. small secrets and evolutions are fun to find. but it lacks depth, as expected for a game of this caliber on this hardware

A fun little game you can 100% in a few hours. The cursor speed is a little slow, and on your first playthrough, some of the shot setups will feel very obtuse. Otherwise, a fun time.

You end up with 69 pictures in your report at the end if you go for 100%, and well, I think that's just neat.

A kinda fun unique experience back in the day. Sadly was way too short. Im really surprised it took 20 years to make a proper sequel.

OST slaps way harder than it has any right to, catch me vibing in oak's lab

Really good game, really short. Now with a sequel!

I played this game a lot as a kid, but I bought it as an adult from a record store for $20. This game is a fun, chill, vacation-like game where you just get to hang out in a Pokemon world. I love it. I beat this game 100%. Some of those secrets are really tough, but in a good way that really captured my imagination, even as a twenty-something fool who should have been reading a book.

How can you dislike taking pictures of cute animals?!?

SNAP
This one's going in my good games compilation.

Finding new ways to get Pokemon and hidden secrets throughout the levels is a blast, and the music is really good.

controls did not age well and gameplay is boring as hell i'm sorry

ive replayed this game so so much and i still have my cartridge from when i was 5 with weird pictures and captions on there :)

This game was for many years, the best view into the world of Pokémon and their natural habitats! It's a bit on the short side, length-wise, but there's plenty of replayability with secrets to unlock and goals you can set for yourself.
