Cool idea, but incredibly easy.

S:TT is the worst Skylanders game plain and simply. On the positives, Lorne Balfe returns to lend his hand for this game's ost, the game has a lot of charming locations, and the toy quality is also great. As for the negatives, the Trapping gimmick was clearly not polished, as not only is the trapping system very lackluster, it loses its charm not long after your first few captures. The game is very expensive for new players, and is EXTREMELY unpolished all around, lacking proper refinement, glitches are everywhere. Despite being the worst game in the series, I still do hold this game near and dear to my heart.

my favorite skylanders game. absolutely loved being able to play as the villains and i loved the story.

I am not even sure if I owned this one. But i had the lobster toy so here it is.

this game is the definition of "unlocking the boss as a playable character but they're not as cool or fun"

A fun, if a bit shallooooooooooo-

This and Swap Force are the best ones, and I will die on this hill.

nostalgia got me hooked on this game

Not my favorite Skylanders game but it was still really fun.

The trapping mechanic is genius, while some villains are very barebones and clunky to play as, the concept of beating up bad guys and trapping them in a giant vortex to turn them nice is brilliant. The people behind this franchise had a firm understanding on what children consider fun and it never fails to keep that magical aspect.

this is where I ended my skylanders career

Skylanders but you can play as the enemies.

While I still enjoyed it, this is easily my least favorite Skylanders game in the series. The characters weren't as memorable to me, the new mechanic/gimmick was wholly boring, and most of the levels bored me. A lot of people complain about the lack of polish and horrendous glitches as well. I would agree with those criticisms, however what I listed are bigger issues, if you ask me.

I'm pretty sure if I looked for the definition of overrated pretty sure it's just a picture of skylanders trap team sure the roster of new skylanders are pretty good and the doomraider fights are decent (although the damage cap that stops you before the phases are over get really tedious) but the gimmick poorly executed with their being no point of using the boring as fuck villians that are often better when you fight them compared to when you actually play as them and the villains seem even worse by comparison when the skylanders are so much more enjoyable and complex they can't even be used as good support like some argue because their moves disappear when you switch back, tons of glitches, the levels are nothing special compared to the quality of the levels from previous games and superchargers lacking in level gimmicks, not looking as visually stunning as the levels from swap force or superchargers and not utilising elemental abilities like earth skylanders breaking rocks and water skylanders swimming like spyro's adventure had leaving most levels to feel pretty bare bones and boring to me not helped by the previously mentioned glitches and some levels don't even have the decency to have good music with half the levels having generic stock music that doesn't add to the atmosphere at all (although i will say the actual music that is composed by balfe is decent even if it's weaker than the other entries soundtracks bar imaginators but that barely counts),the crappy co-op respawn mechanic that dragged both players back that frustrated both me and my sister, removal of pvp and the amount of figures you need to 100% the game (10 Trap Masters,11 Traps and 4 Adventure Packs) really hold back the game.
The fact that this is the most popular game within the fanbase is extremely disappointing

Functions as well as the twix wrapper my dad used when I was conceived.

Skylander Trap Team wasn't the greatest game in the franchise but, I had a great time. I thought capturing villains was a good idea I was kinda expecting more capturing villains in the game, not including the expansion level and, I never really got to play as the other Trap Team Skylanders only 3 and, I thought their move sets were pretty good snapshot was my baby he a level 20 and, food fight and torch were okay I don't remember much of torch but, food fight was good I mostly use Snapshot because I thought he was cool and, stuff so yeah and, the capturing villains were kind of forgettable except for the doom Raider is get the story was okay nothing special also the Nintendo 3DS one there nothing too terribly special so yeah it's a-okay game

Good game but compared to the ones before, it's under whelming. The trap masters are fun to play but they make all the other skylanders useless. Makes me regret having my mom spent thousands of bucks on the old skylnaders. Villains are fun too but why paly any of them besides Kaos. He literally solos the game.

A good game, but a pretty weak Skylanders game thanks to a mediocre mechanic and bugs.

A step down from the previous entries. The concept of trapping and then playing as villains seem cool, but fall off when you realize that they could have made them Skylanders and nothing would change. They don’t spice up the gameplay in any meaningful way and aside from the Doom Raiders, I don’t get any information about the other villains until after I trap them. It’s not bad, but not good either. The game also just feels slower than the ones before.
Speaking of the Doom Raiders, while I appreciate the fact that the story is more built around the gimmick, I ended up not really caring that much for them as villains, especially since at the end, Kaos just ends up taking the final boss place again.
But speaking of bosses, that is one area where Trap Team is the best in the series at. Since there are plenty of lesser bosses around the game, this allowed the developers to go further out for the big ones. Another aspect I like about the game is that I find it to be the hardest game in the series, even on Hard Mode. And honestly, anything involving Wolfgang is super.

But this is one of the most “quantity over quality” games I’ve ever played.

The trap gimmick is kinda cool but this is definitely when the series started to become too generic and lose its touch

tbh this might be the worst one there is but god do I have a blast while playing it.
