Manuals allow your combos to go on longer and there are even better maps than 1 like School. It's getting there.

The gameplay additions and levels where a definite step up from THPS1.

Haven't played this since I was a kid but I went FERAL for this game, shit was soooo fun I rented it every got damn weekend

Still probably the best overall entry

I didn't play this one as much as the first but it was still a blast to play and it had Spider-Man!

This is as athletic as I would ever get

Fun time, good music. What else can I say.

I'm going to focus more on the GBA version since it's the first version of the game that made me enter in this wildish urbanish skateboardish trickish awesome world. Not going to write an entire bible tho lol, I'm just going to say, it's darn awesome, I love the exclusive levels innit like the warehouse level but with different objetives, etc etc. I swear if it wasn't by this version of the game, I would never discovered the freaking awesome series ahem, forgetting about thps5 ofc ahem. Now goin' to the PS/PC version, when I was a lil one I didn't even knew that there was a PC version of the game and I was completely amazed by it, when I first played it, damn I didn't even wanted to go back playing the GBA version lol, I was hella impressed by the more fluid mechanics and the graphics, no more wordz, is a freaking awesome skateboarding game and the most memorable from the series

the first truly great tony hawk game. this one has rage against the machine on the soundtrack. it is good.

Just one of the most fun games ever made, the later levels kinda suck tho.

Had this on the gba idk what else to say I think it was bad

I'd say this is where the Skateboarding genre really kicked off for most people, and I keep my GBC version nearby at all times.

Tony Hawk's games were amazing in how it implemented addictive gameplay with wierd circumstances, and it reminds me of the GTA universe in how the characters are potrayed or acting.

Awesome sequel, gameplay is a lot better compared to the first game. Create a park is really good. Xbox version has more content but the physics feel more "floaty" for some reason.

Somehow just a few basic additions made this game so much better than its predecessors. All the levels here are more interesting and replayable than Pro Skater 1, and the competitions are less frustrating as well (doesn’t mean they’re not hard at times, they’re just more fun). With added manuals, wall rides, better upgrades and specials, this game is a vast improvement and is definitely a timeless classic.

GBA Version Score: 4/5

You'd think that a GBA port of THPS2 would suck, but Vicarious Visions did the absolute best they could in making this as close to the original game as they could on a portable. And it delivers! Most of the levels are here and preserved pretty well, and the 3D gameplay is replaced with a 2.5D isometric style view. It can be hard to gauge where collectibles or gaps are at times, but for the most part it works! I like the soundtrack here, made up of all original little fun loops. And most importantly, this game feels almost EXACTLY the same control wise as the console version, which is unbelievable. Highly recommend this to people who love the series and want to experience a different take on it.

this game was a constant companion for at least 3 years of my youth. the time I tried to learn skatin in real life, i was trying to perfect insane and unrealistic combos ingame. a milestone.

Pretty sure I almost failed elementary because of this one.

A great game at the time, but THPS3 and THAW improved so much on the formula that it's hard to come back to a time before Reverts. Playing this game now is like going back to Pop-Tarts after you've had a Toaster Strudel.

I remember sitting in the computer room and my dad said he had just bought this game before handing me the disc. I just remember listening to T.N.T. on repeat while failing to do the most basic tricks. I also remember making big spike pit levels on the skate park creator.

What a wild time.
