BROKE: Uncharted 5 with Sam
WOKE: Uncharted 5 with Chloe

It could be argued that Lost Legacy is the best Uncharted game. It's a hyper-focused, bite-sized adventure that's the perfect palette cleanser after Uncharted 4.

The game expands upon the open-ended level design, the combat arenas feel varied, and the dialogue is as charming as ever before.

It's actually super refreshing to experience an Uncharted game from a different perspective. As much as I love Nathan, I definitely don't any more of him in my life and having both Nadine and Chloe openly talk some shit on him was great.

A short, standalone adventure that succeeds on the strength of its characters.

Though this is a standalone expansion, it still has all the production value and high quality of any other Naughty Dog game. It was a fun romp of a story. The Uncharted series is very near and dear to me heart and it was a little weird not playing as Nathan at first, but Chloe and Nadine are a great duo and it is so refreshing to get a game in this series from the female perspective. Their banter is entertaining and I loved watching their relationship develop. They were awesome. Of course the game looks incredible as well and I loved the Indian setting and lore. I really only have one complaint and it's something that happens in pretty much all Naughty Dog games; sometimes the game just kills you and you get a cheap death. Maybe the controls were wonky when you needed them to be precise or you took a turn the game didn't want you to take. Either way, you're dead. The load times are short and checkpoints are generous so this isn't a huge issue, but it's bothersome. I see it most often in the Last of Us games but it happens here most often of all and it's slightly annoying. At least you don't have to watch horrific death animations every time. Other than this, I think Lost Legacy is one of the strongest entries in this series.

This was a pretty solid adventure for fans of the Uncharted series, but not much more than that. It doesn’t do anything very original or interesting. It has the small open world section which they ended up incorporating into The Last of Us Part II as well, but it didn’t feel very compelling here, and the reward for exploring most of it is a bracelet that pulses near treasure, a collectible that’s been pretty meaningless in all of the Uncharted games. The lost city in Lost Legacy is beautiful, I’ll give them that. This features the same stellar level of quality in graphics and environments as Uncharted 4, although since Lost Legacy is based mostly in one area, the set pieces are far less varied. This can be forgiven since it’s a standalone DLC, not meant to be a globe-trotting adventure like the mainline games. Lost Legacy is longer than all three original Uncharted games respectively, but feels far shorter, since not much happens. This game felt really weird to play immediately after A Thief’s End. It felt reminiscent of fan fiction, and felt like it shouldn’t really exist. A Thief’s End tied up the Uncharted universe nicely, and tapping into this world again felt wrong. The game culminates in a combination of the train sequence from Uncharted 2, and the car chase sequence from Uncharted 4, but it isn’t nearly as interesting as either of those things. I felt like I’d played it before.

I feel like DLC for a single player game needs to expand upon the story of the base game in a meaningful way that feels like a necessary addition. The Last of Us: Left Behind is a great example of this. It filled in a gap in the original game’s story as well as providing meaningful background info on Ellie’s character, which gives the base game even more depth. Lost Legacy just felt like another lost city treasure hunt that very conveniently unites side characters from past games for a nostalgia trip. It didn’t feel to me like it had much purpose other than that. I feel like they should’ve just let Uncharted 4 be the end, and move on to something else.

I’m legitimately sad that this series is over. Playing the Uncharted games all in a row for the first time is my favorite gaming experience of the past couple years. I loved these games way more than I thought I would, and they’ll always have a special place in my heart.

The "open-world" format really doesn't work for the Uncharted formula, but once you get past that chapter this becomes another very fun adventure in the series, showing Chloe can definitely hold her own as the main character

Despite being basically an expansion of the fourth game, it is my second favorite in the series.

Uncharted 3 is probably my favorite in the series, if I had to pick one. But Lost Legacy is probably the best.

It's short, it's focused, and it's refined. It has the benefit of standing on the shoulders of one of the most prolific franchises in gaming. By now, the formula is down to a science. But the game is not clinical. It's exciting, vibrant, and explosive. The whole thing is just focused. That's the word I kept coming back to. The story is smaller scale and the game is shorter. The cast is smaller. The fat has been trimmed. It's got a bit more freedom to it, but because it's primarily contained in one sandbox without a lot of traveling to other locations, it feels tighter.

I love the characters, and the villain is good too. Some Uncharted villains aren't very likable, but I liked this one. Nadine's arc is executed absolutely perfectly. Based on her relationship with Chloe when the game starts, you shouldn't take to her too quickly, but you should at least find her a believable partner. They also don't want to make you too warm to her too quickly in a way that would feel rushed, and they succeed there as well. I went from guarded and cautious of Nadine to full Stan by the end, and they sell it well.

The core gameplay mechanics, including the grappling hook, are essentially unchanged from 4. The mechanics all still work as well as ever here, and I had a really good time tackling the various action bits as stealthily as I could manage, and I even got some trophies for my efforts. I kept restarting encounters to get them as clean as I could. But when stuff pops off and you go whole hog, that's always fun, too.

The visuals are gorgeous, animation is terrific, the story is great, and it's all just bomb. I think there's a solid case Lost Legacy is the best in the series.

Please give an Uncharted 60fps patch for PS5, please oh please!

A pretty good addition to the Uncharted franchise, but I missed my boy Nathan Drake

naughty dog loves giving buff laura bailey rights and i'm not mad about it

Finally finished my old playthrough of the game. Dunno why I dropped it, it’s classic Uncharted fun with some different faces. Wouldn’t mind another Chloe/Nadine/Sam game in the future.

I probably enjoyed this more than Uncharted 4. It's a more focused, tighter experience that is probably the best Uncharted gameplay you can get.

well feminism got the best of all of us neil suck m dick neil

One of the strongest entries in the Uncharted franchise and really fun to play, the story is really well written and the characters are very likable proven over the fact this game made me like a character (Nadine) I otherwise hated in Uncharted 4. Uncharted 4 is my favourite entry in the series and this comes in at a very close second.

my absolute favorite from the series

I played this at a time that I was getting tired of Naughty Dogs approach to game making.

And this game didn't help those sour thoughts.

It's just more uncharted, plain and simple. for better or worse.

Lost legacy fells like a entire new Uncharted game, it still has characters that you know, but here the game is telling you their story, expanding on what you know and even more.

Chloe and Nadine left behind (hehe) their secondary role to take the game by storm, and honestly? if there were to be another Uncharted, i would rather be with they.

The game stills fells like Uncharted 4, breathtaking landscapes, stealth and action sequences and one or another shutouts, but here the puzzles have a more important appearance, and that really improves the array of gameplay mechanics this game has.

The narrative is excellent, even your third character is okay here, of course it has the uncharted structure and all that, but enjoyable nonetheless. It's a must play for story driven fans, a smaller but never worst experience

Better than every Uncharted game except for 4.

Another outstanding game from Naughty Dog. I thought the new protagonists breathed some new life into the Uncharted series and offered a new perspective that was engaging throughout. I am hopeful we see in the story of Chloe and Nadine.

In many ways I feel it improves upon the last title, with better pacing and mix of combat/traversal, and in others not as much. Both narrative and gameplay wise I had a fun time, and it’s physical proof the show can go on without Nathan.

Think the game could have done with being a bit longer, but what's there is a really endearing & fun adventure that finishes off Chloe's arc pretty nicely. Really liked Nadine in this as well, she gets a lot of time to shine here
