I know it wasn’t even close to the first, but I remember this as the game that launched the mainstream indie revolution.

Era mto foda, acho bem underrated

This one lived up to the hype for me. One of the only games I’ve ever played that I am itching to do it all over again. A physics based puzzler done with style and substance.

fucl you this is the greatest games

One of the most actively annoying games I've ever played. Most of the levels revolve around loading in, seeing the 1 very obvious solution (or the obvious solution being outside your vision), and then fiddling with a broken physics system until you either succeed or have to press retry. There IS an undo but it's tied to a semi-limited resource which due to the physics element of the game is often useless by the time your error actually manifests as more than a temporary instability.

I might've considered giving this a slightly positive rating despite the rather dull puzzles if it wasn't full of smaller design decisions that slowly grate over the course of the game

--The goo selection is somewhat sticky, so even if you're mousing over the one you want, if you happened to pass by another on the way there and it's too close, you're just not allowed.

--The lines for placing goo are very thin at the edge and nearly invisible against certain backgrounds or when the game zooms out.

--There are scores upon winning a level for how many goo make it, moves used, time taken. While moves and time are usually fine, goo making it generally require or incentivize playing in slow and boring ways like golfing. This exacerbates the lack of real undos even further.

--The cutscenes are unskippable and still play after an already won level.

I realize this is just a madpost but I was compelled and now I'll never have to think about this game again.

The story is also a little too into itself and the physics can feel a tad frustrating at times but when it works it's pretty fun. It's fitting of one of the early members of the indie boom.

The physics and level-design were enjoyable to play around with, and the random bits of story/lore scattered throughout the stages were fun. Had the urge to play through this again recently, and it still held up very well despite its age at this point.

Fun bulding game with well-done physics.

Looking back at it I'm kind of shocked at the praise this game received upon its release. Both the controls and the physics involved are incredibly finnicky on multiple levels, the puzzles are largely not interesting, and the game is aesthetically on-par with a mid-tier Newgrounds game.

Generally I try to avoid rating games I've not played for close to a decade, but a streamer I love was playing through this and I was kind of taken aback both by how much worse the game seemed than my apathetic memory of it, and by how much the streamer was also finding the game often-miserable.

great puzzle game, what does the goo taste like?

Interesting enough but it doesn't feel like it fully explores the possibilities of the mechanics. It's alright but I find it strange that it seems to be so highly praised.

good puzzle game, worth a play if you're into that kind of thing. fun and original designs.

This game felt very original when it came out. Indie games still hadn't really taken off so it allowed this one to really stand out. It had this very gloomy yet memorable mood about it. Definitely worth the time.

Buena historia. Corto pero "intenso"

I played this on a friend's PC a long time ago, its really fun to figure out how to get to high places. I can't say I would get it to play again.

I don't even know why I logged this game here

truckloads of ire have been shoveled on top of braid, the pseudointellectual indie-darling of 2008, over the past decade or so, but i find it interesting that this, another game from 2008 that every major game publication was stumbling over to call a genius masterwork, has mostly been met with indifference over the same time frame. a game that had its time in the spotlight and has been all but thoroughly forgotten. now, this is obviously an oversimplification: no figurehead for 2D BOY/Tomorrow Corporation is a pretentious dumbass who loves jordan peterson (at least not to my knowledge), but its still interesting to see what permanently captures our anger and what simply gets ignored. for every braid theres most likely dozens of world of goos.

anyway, the game itself? its fine. its an average puzzle game carried by a strong sense of aesthetics, reminds me a lot making fiends, a short lived nicktoons show that i fucking loved as a kid. musics neat too, has a cool sort of cabaret feel for a lot of it that i like. also something something capitalism bad. surprised this game hasnt reached the youtube essayists by now. my guess is they just dont care enough.

The best atmosphere of any game I've ever played
(Because of soundtrack and art)
