Pretty fun time, the short levels make this game easy to pick up and play for small bursts. I couldn't be bothered going for all the crowns in each level, but I enjoyed my time with the game.
I feel like it overstays it's welcome just a bit, and how fun a level is would depend on the gimmick, but this game is totally worth checking out and a nice way to pass some time on a slow day or when waiting to be called up for an appointment.

This game is a bit uneven in terms of quality. Its expertise is surprising the player and put a smile to anyone who plays it. The levels are varied and you have no idea what to expect. It’s not really a golf game even though it’s a golf themed one. Its uneven quality comes due to its variety. Not all levels are good, there is a lot of experimentation involved, sometimes luck is involved, sometimes you feel like the game is wasting your time. You can tell the devs were learning as they were developing the game because the 4 extra episodes they added later are definitely better at what they do best. Also, this is more of a casual experience. Even though there are harder challenges, don’t expect deep gameplay. It’s all superficial. I almost wanted to quit near the end with story mode but I’m glad I persevered and gave the 4 episodes a try. With them, it feels like the game has ended on a good note. It’s fun while you play it, but don’t expect too much and don’t take it seriously!
A grand golf game. So much golf. Do you like the peaceful nature of golf? This game won't be for you!
Lots of goofy levels that are fun and just make you question what greatness occurred during development. The extra variations of level add a few different twists to them which makes them refreshing and not too dull.
Not too many qualms. Some navigational stuff could be tricky, but it works! The length was just right and the added challenges are fun!
The silly Golf Notes? Grand. The evil maniacal robot? Grand. This game? Grand!

It’s a clever game with dozens of well-executed mechanics, many of which are essentially game parodies, and it’s a perfect game for the Apple TV controller. It’s impressive that most of the gimmicks in What the Golf? work so seamlessly that they could support an entire game on their own, but while the variety is certainly a strength, it unintentionally lends to the feeling this is a surface-level sampler platter.

delighted with how fun and creative this ends up being. the pitch is basically "wario ware meets golf", and i was expecting it to run out of ideas fast but somehow they kept it going with great levels till the very end. not all the levels are winners but there were enough laugh out loud (L.O.L) moments for it to be a very enjoyable time and earn a recommendation
