It took me four years to finally get around to playing this game. I mean, can you believe that? I played the majority of the Uncharted series in 2020, when we were all locked down - the entire series was made free, with the exception of The Lost Legacy. I binged it, and with the story of Nathan Drake being brought to a perfect close, The Lost Legacy was a piece of content I had zero motivation to go out of my way to purchase.

That being said, The Lost Legacy was an opportunity - an opportunity to add depth to some of the characters that had played supporting roles throughout Nate’s journeys that had otherwise been a little one-note. Chloe and Nadine are the obvious choices. Chloe was merely introduced as an alternate love interest to Nathan Drake, and though becoming a fan favorite, had a great amount of room to expand on her character. And as for Nadine, she was unfortunately greatly underdeveloped and left much to be desired. She was, in essence, a plot device - an extremely cool one, mind you - a reminder that Nathan Drake is by no means a professional. Despite being the luckiest man alive and having a good few adventures under his belt, he and his brother were still easily humbled by a formally trained martial artist. And in the context of Uncharted 4, this works extremely well, but it leaves so many opportunities to continue Nadine’s story.

I’ll admit, I was skeptical going into The Lost Legacy. Chloe was never particularly a memorable character to me, nor was Nadine interesting enough that I really wanted a full campaign starring her. In my mind, both had served their purposes in a story that wasn’t really theirs.

The Lost Legacy essentially resolved any of these fears and problems I may have with their characters. Their dynamic is great, and this game brings some much needed depth and background to both of their characters.

I don’t know what Naughty Dog’s intention was in developing Lost Legacy - but if it was to prove that, perhaps, Chloe Frazer could be the lead of another Uncharted trilogy - then sign me up. There’s so much further we can go from here, and The Lost Legacy finally made me love her, and Nadine, both.

I will add, it kind of felt like they queerbaited me, but that could be just me. Their chemistry really is excellent. Please, Naughty Dog. In Uncharted 5, give the LGBTQ+ community what they need. I really, really want to see them kiss.

Uncharted: The Lost Legacy is just another solid entry into this franchise. It’s not mind-blowing, nor is the story anywhere near as fulfilling as A Thief’s End. But the incredibly fun gameplay of Uncharted 4 remains intact - and story-wise, it does exactly what it sets out to do. That being to further develop characters from the Nathan Drake saga that aren’t Nathan Drake.

I don’t know if we’ll ever get Uncharted 5. It would be perfectly valid for Naughty Dog to want the main series to end alongside the story of Nathan Drake. But with Lost Legacy, they proved that Chloe Frazer makes for a damn good protagonist, and I really, truly hope they don’t squander that potential.

Also, that final chapter was just a massive Uncharted 2 reference, and I loved every second of it.

Uncharted Lite, but still Uncharted

Also one of the greatest game of all time.

A fine game. Story was there but not grabbing. Character development was pretty ok. Not something that will stay with you for a long time but a decent experience if you need something new to scratch that Uncharted itch.

I had a blast with this game. I really wanted a cinematic, not really thinky game and this did the trick for me. I LOVED Chloe and Nadine's dynamic. I am just a sucker for when a hardened character grows more soft over-time. The open world section was good, it didnt overstay its welcome which was nice. GOD the environments!!! Truly some of the most beautiful scenes I have had the opportunity to live in for a bit. I know for the most part it's just dense jungle and temple, but mannnn does this game do them well. Wish the stealth was a teensy bit better and I always want a designated crouch, but hey those are nit picks really. This game knows what it wants to do and does it. This is what I come to Uncharted for, pure pulpy fun. P.S kinda want them to kiss.

Really great length Uncharted game, a lot of fun.

This might be the best Uncharted game, dare I say it. It depends on whether you consider this an Uncharted game or not (I don't know why you wouldn't). But if you don't count it due to it being an "expansion title" or whatever, this is the best Uncharted since 2, and WAY BETTER than 4. The pacing is much better (it's a shorter game so duh, but I should emphasize it because 4 severely lacked here), the story feels a lot more focused and tonally matches the OG trilogy, and the combat is realized to its full potential here. There are way more combat encounters in here than 4 and the new additions here like tagging enemies, silenced pistols, and an open-world chapter with its own little side objectives are all welcome here. The story isn't anything crazy but does have its twists and turns here and there and a strong focus on Chloe's development as a character. Although the whole subplot about her dad and the villain's motivations are a little underbaked, the game thrives from being constantly engaging. This game just feels like a giant homage/spiritual successor of Uncharted 2. Uncharted 2 is my favorite game in the series and Chloe has been my favorite character in the series since 2. So seeing this story serve as a love letter to her character similar to how 4 was for Nate genuinely made me happy as a fan. Also, the final mission of this game is the best mission in Uncharted history. And it's not even close. Everything about the third act of this game was a 10/10. If you've played the other games or even just 2, this game is a must-play.

Me sorprendió muchísimo.

Kinda like a greatest hits for Uncharted, borrowing bits from different games and mashing them together in a more compact, nicely paced adventure.

Story 4.3 | Gameplay 4.6 | Audio 4 | Visual 5 | Details 4 | Entertainment 5

Total 4.5

pas objective, juste lesbienne......

Protagonista ok, jogo meio tedioso

A short but pretty fun game I kind of feel like this game is similar to spider man miles Morales its a fun game that is just kind of that. I really love the dynamic between Chloe and Nadine as well as the addition of Sam later in the game that trio is gold together. The final boss of the game is also pretty cool with the pretty badass train sequence but the villain himself is fairly boring and forgettable.

This game is absolutely magnificent, I will start this review off by saying it's not better than Uncharted 4 but it holds up well for being its own game instead of an expansion title. Given that it probably would've worked better as an expansion game, it's pretty impressive it can stand up on its own. That being mentioned though, one of the main faults in this game (to me) is that its wayyy too short. It could've stood to be just a little longer in my opinion, though I can appreciate how it doesn't overstay its welcome like Uncharted 4 kind of did, playing 4 I often found myself thinking "Okay, we're definitely near the end now" and nope, no we were not, but I don't think that knocks off any points for me though, I do like a long video game. Moving on to my next critique, the pacing in this game just seems so slow and off at times to fall under the action category, nonetheless an Uncharted title. The open world chunk of the game is really where you'll spend most of your time, especially because they send you on a fetch quest for the Hoysala tokens needed to get the Queen's Ruby bracelet that assists in finding treasures near by glowing red and vibrating your controller, if you don't care to do this side quest, you'll spend a lot less time in that section than me and many others and the pacing will probably march along to the beat of a normal Uncharted game. Speaking of the Queen's Ruby side quest, I'd like to say I did thoroughly enjoy doing it even though it can be simplified into just driving a ton of places, killing some bad guys and maybe doing some parkour or puzzles (I can't really remember each token's requirement to achieve) and then going onto the next one, I found most of the puzzles quite enjoyable and I will say it did add a nice texture to the world. This brings me to my next point, the Uncharted franchise is consistently breathtaking in the views and world building, Naughty Dog knows how to make a game regardless of what people say about some of their more "scandalous" story telling decisions, which I'm sure we all know what I'm talking about (cough, cough Joel's death) Naughty Dog's games are never anything short of some of the closest games to perfection we'll ever get, every cutscene has something beautiful to appreciate, each view significantly more gorgeous and grandeur than the last. Not even to mention how amazing the views are when Chloe has a photo taking opportunity, just so damn close to perfection it makes you wish it was real and if there are actually places in this world that exist that are so perfect like that. Continuing on, the landscapes in the open world are so cleverly placed and mapped out and fun to explore and traverse, nothing to write home about but they're better than a lot of other "levels" or areas made for combat or puzzles. I will mention, for the first couple hours in the open world portion, I found it so hard to traverse and drive through, I was looking at my map literally every other couple second to make sure I was going the right way because it was so easy to drive in one direction to get to one area and somehow end up in another because of the map connects different corners of the map, this is MOSTLY player error though because I am a tad directionally challenged at times in video games, I am not too mad at this part and it doesn't really matter to me because I feel it fits the thick jungle environment you have going on in the game to get lost or confused. One thing that SEVERELY annoys me about the Uncharted franchise is no dedicated run or stealth button, I absolutely hate that and there isn't too much to say about that in this review because it's self-explanatory, but I feel like in an action game not being able to run especially when you're doing a timed puzzle such as the water fountain jumping puzzle is utterly asinine. However, the combat aspect of the game is, in my humble opinion, superior to the Uncharted 4 combat, I mentioned in my Uncharted 4 review that the hand-to-hand combat feels heavy most of the time and I still 110% stand by that, but the only other game I've personally ever played with melee combat that silky smooth is The Last of Us 2, which TLOU2's is miles better but I digress to say they're somewhat comparable. I really enjoyed Chloe and Nadine's dynamic, they're both such softies for each other, when Nadine was mad at Chloe for working with Sam behind her back and they were fighting was one of the best parts of the game and I sincerely hope their story together gets expanded on in the future and we get to see more of them being little softies for each other, I hope we see more of Nadine, Chloe and Sam together as a trio way more though, I loved that little glimpse we got of them right at the end. I will say the character dynamics and the views are really the backbone for this game for me because the story and Asav, who is supposed to be the "villain", are both just so bland... Maybe it's my attention span, but I really couldn't even tell you Asav's motives for wanting the Tusk or the story of the game, I just found this game substantially harder to follow than 4 which is really disappointing and let me down because the potential of this game was ample, I found a lot of areas of the story to lack creativity and the gameplay to be predictable which is why I say if you've played one Uncharted game, you've played them all. All in all, I think for the amount of time this game takes up (for me, around 12 hours over the span of multiple days), it wouldn't hurt to play it, it's all good exploration and action fun and you can't really go wrong with that. Would I say it's a must play for every gamer? Absolutely not, but if you're someone who likes Naughty Dog or games like Uncharted, I'd totally bring it up as a suggestion. My only genuine advice would be to play Lost Legacy before Uncharted 4 because there's no way you can play 4 before LL and still appreciate LL for all of its good qualities without constant comparison between the two and that's what really put a notch in my experience with this game, knowing how much better it could've been and that the potential of this title was not even close to even a quarter of being maximized for player experience and enjoyment.

i want ganesh tusk too

Would've worked far better as an expansion pack instead of it's own separate game.

i do have a thing for chloe now

4.25 / 5.
Honestly a lot better than I'd ever expected it to be.
Whilst it doesn't come close to the heights of Uncharted 4, it is nice to play and interact with these characters again, Chloe and Nadine get more backstory which I appreciate, and Sam showing up for the final few chapters was a nice touch.
I have my complaints, I think the villain is underutilized, the game as a whole is too short as well, but I really enjoyed this.

some CLASSIC naughty dog right here folks! i know that this was only supposed to be a dlc but BECAUSE of how long they ended up making it i wish there were more game mechanics / normal UI. sooo fun though and insane over the top graphics. love naughty dog graphics!!!!!! big fan!!
