this overtook my life for three days. jank but effective at what it's trying to do

i got into this game very late, and i haven't been with the guilty gear franchise for very long. i know a lot of people have mixed opinions about this game, and i think that there's definitely a good reason for it; strive visually looks phenomenal but i feel like it also took away a lot of the charm that made other games like xrd so charming. little things like unique character interactions are almost entirely absent, which kinda sucks

as someone who is not very good at fighting games though strive is probably the deepest i've ever gone into properly learning and getting good at a fighting game. i think it's a great entry point into the franchise (and, arguably, the genre)

maybe i just got that weird car autism but i liked this game a lot. progression felt very satisfying and the game manages to be intense and cinematic essentially without scripting anything
