The greatest game ever made - an outright masterpiece that no other game can even think of competing with. Ocarina of Time? The Witcher 3? Nah, fuck out of here - this is the real deal. Before I played this game, I was miserable - depressed, lonely - but it wasn’t until I played this absolute masterpiece when my life began to change for the better. Amazing graphics, a kickass soundtrack, deep gameplay - this game has it all. Cory, you really are a busta.

Pretty wonky as an RPG in a lot of ways. The extremely cheap full revive items and Peach's immediate access to a move that can full heal the party and cure all status ailments at the same time kind of break the game on their own. But the action commands are fun and you're regularly getting new weapons and skills with their own action commands, so that goes a long way to keep the combat engaging for most of the game. You can also mercifully dodge past a majority of enemies.
There's a greater focus on the maps and minigames, and they pack a lot of variety into these across the ~12 hour runtime. Mario runs pretty quick on the map and each room is a nice little obstacle course, so it feels very much like 'Mario but an RPG' in a way that the future Mario RPGs don't to me. Despite everyone's complaints about the isometric platforming, I've never found it to be much of a problem myself.
As time has gone on, this has somewhat surprisingly become my second favorite Squaresoft RPG on the SNES after Chrono Trigger, and probably my favorite of the Mario RPGs as well. It's just a good time from start to finish.

Like, is it good? Yeah ofc but it still has glaring problems. Visuals definitely weren’t at the forefront of the developers minds because the pop in is rough and some graphics look real crusty sometimes.
But ultimately, the game is super fun and the refresher the Pokémon franchise really needed. Shoutout to my main girl Eggnog for carrying me at the end.

Decent game with lots of nice features that i do hope came to stay but an overall format that, while fun, i very much wish was as a one-time occurance. Pokemon has a formula that deserves some modernization yet a full rework of some crucial core features was a bit too much.
Some of the changes to combat like the status effect rework were really interesting to see, but the new turn system is incredibly frustrating and inconsistent. New catching mechanics were fun but turned the game into almost a collec-a-thon of sorts, battles became almost unnecessary so you barely got to battle and train with your team, all you had to do was walk around and cross pokemons off your list.
An enjoyable, relaxing time, with lots of steps forward, lots of steps backwards and lots of steps just kinda... sideways? Excited to see what they learn from it even if a bit worried as well.

This game was a super good update of the original games, only missing that battle frontier...
The new megas are all super cool, standouts being of course the Hoenn Legendaries, Sceptile, Swampert and Beedrill.
The updates too Hoenn and the updates to the PSS/ Other screens on the touch screen were cool too.
Also use Pikachu Libre is super pog.
The post game is a big winner here, alongside soaring to legendary spots and islands with foreign pokemon give hoenn much more life. And the Delta Episode is such a fun conclusion to the post game.

This is the second game I played in the persona series (behind persona 4) and I fell in love with this game the instant I got it.
So real talk, there are a few issues with this game. There are things that could have been done better. But the game is so stylish and the gameplay is so fun that it makes up for those shortcomings. The art style is so good and the OST is something I still listen to on my daily travels. I would recommend to players both new to the persona series and returning veterans.
