Played on PS3 (through KH HD 2.5 Remix)

I don’t even know what to say. It surprised me from start to finish. I’m still wondering how tears began rolling down my cheeks as I saw Mickey hugging edgy anime boy in the final scene.

That’s how much I loved KH II. It did so much more than it’s predecessor and reached a degree of excellency that I wasn’t expecting.

It’s simply FUN. Not perfect, of course, but definitely one of the most fun videogames I’ve ever played.

Total carnage and pure unadulterated fun. From the first 10 seconds of playing this game I knew it was going to be great - when you have to melee attack to break the planks, it already felt satisfying and gave me a little chill of 'oh this will be good' - that's a very strong sign.

The movement, level design, sound design, retro vibe and insanely fast pacing of this game come together beautifully to craft an fps that takes heavily from its influences (doom & quake) but pushes them to their extremes. Elevated further by a real charm that's usually found in indie games like this one.

What I think I find the most impressive about this game is how it keeps up the chaos and bloodlust with perfect pacing. Each arena fight feels just the right length and is balanced out with unique and clever level design that regularly switches up what the player should be doing as well as the scenery/atmosphere to compliment it. Playing this game is such a treat and reinforces just how fun they can be when a game nails down and hones in on what it wants to be - ultrakill knows what it is and isn't distracted by anything unecessary, you're a robot, kill shit, drench yourself in blood to heal, have fun!

Cyber grind is also great fun and I can see myself coming back to it to beat my highscore with the next update :)

Really looking forward to seeing this game get finished, it's difficult to rate fairly right now because there's still a lot more that it has to give (i've gotten a taster of the whip now and want to see what they can do with it!). But regardless, this is an essential experience for every fps nerd. Multiple hours of neuron activation.

The most beautiful Pokémon spin-off hands down, truly a gem.
