People say this is the (what's the term we're using again?) Soulsborne ring like with the least re-playability. In my opinion...I disagree.

I've spent some time away from this game and coming back into 2 separate playthroughs I find myself never doing the same run. Going for different paths, seeing how much I can do before stormveil, etc. Every single time I get so engrossed all over again.

Now it never will have that first time feel, but still there are paths, items, even some dungeons in my 400+ hours in the game that has me going "I've never been here or gotten this item before."

Where the other souls games I know my run, I know where to go and what few items to grab. Elden ring I just always get lost in its world. The dlc cannot come soon enough.

So I waited 12 years for this. I remember getting dd1 back at gamestop because I heard it was like skyrim but also kinda like dark souls....didn't click at first but after a bit. It became one of my favorite action rpgs to go through time and time again.

Now does this one hold up to the OG? I'd say yes. It for sure does, the gameplay is impeccable this time around, and some classes feel a lot better(well warrior and wayfarer at least). But it does feel like it's a bit of a stumble of a success.

The story is lackluster, which is on par with the original but even that felt like it held more weight. Also the lack of enemies is pretty disappointing, there are variations but overall it's pretty samey.

The endgame rocks though, like post game shit. I really wish it was more fleshed out and didn't feel so tacked on....

Now let's hope we get a dark arisen like dlc. Then this will probably be a 5/5.

Honestly, I loved this game. Now I do enjoy the OG game, and love that story and this remake does go in weird directions....but I'm ok with it.

I really enjoyed this experience, the combat and gameplay loop is so much fun. The grind, is there but some side quests really suck. This game for sure has some blemishes but overall it's such a great time.

Very exited to get into rebirth soon.
